We use phosphoric acid regularly at work. Rinse with water because it's cheaper than meths but b quick with a prepsol and a scotch brite to clean the flash rust off. Doesnt takes a minit
  2. Is it Factory chev powered or should it be a Pontiac 400?

There could be oil or grease in the seam above it that's leeching out. Not uncommon in engine bays Sometimes overdoing the prepsol can actually wick grease and oil out of seams If the base coat fisheyes again. Let it dry for about an hour till its dry to the touch and give it a scuff with some 400g then dust a few real light dust coats on the sanded area then one over the whole lot and clear it. Hopefully comes right

Dont drop the pressure to much. You still want around 2 bar When you narown the fan width the pressure at the tip increases so you need to adjust for that . Winding the product screw in till it only let's a small amount of product through prevents accidental runs from to much product

Is it an iwata w400? A normal size gun if fine for doing shuts . Narrow the fan up and lower the pressure and lower the product feed . There are knobs for doing that. If your unsure chuck a pic up and I'll point them out
  6. Are you still in chch? Take one off and go see CBC and theyll make you new ones Aprox 40$ each ish at a guess
  7. That was a rollercoaster of a read. So the keel got stuck in the mud and stayed there when wave shifter the boat? Mustve been a puckering moment finding a pivotal part of the yacht missing
  8. What are you wanting to do? Not sure how op got on in the end. But depending what your budget it you may be disappointed. Looking at the bonnet posted originally there is a few days work to punch those louvers and paint ontop of that. Becomes 2 3 4k pretty quick Marking out is extremely time consuming as there is no going back if there crooked haha

  10. Abs was more common in the 80s Not entirely sure about interoir panels. But things like mirrors and motorbike fairings are all abs . Pp is much more pliable and doesnt tent to break. And pe is pretty much just milkbottles Abs is easy af to weld Pp is ok to weld And pe sucks dick
  11. That c channel steel is a cunt of a 70s idea. Very flexible too. You'll find it tows much nice with a drawbar made of rhs My car trailer was made of it back in the day . However not much left of it now.
  12. If you do decide to ship bikes we can load many only my high side car transporter to get them to the start if riding both ways from chch is to much self punishment That is offered to the red flaggots too @Tumeke @sentra
  13. More wire speed? I'm not sure exactly what your doing. But if its undercut "usually" its lack of wire speed
  14. Well its from the 80s So that's better than the xr brigade It's on the limit though
  15. A drz400 isn't really in the spirit of the ride As long as you can maintain 75kph+ on the open sections you'll be fine. Through the tough stuff even the slowest bike is faster than the 4wds
  16. It's often the dithering at stops that keeps everyone held up Slower bikes arnt the problem. If you have a slower bike please be first off the line. Have your helmet and gloves on and be ready to go first. Not leave each stop 3 or 4 mins after everyone else Edit : this isnt a dig at you @Whoopeecock it's just an overall reason why we hurried a few riders up
  17. Yeah it's a pretty lush pub Will have to return
  18. Went to nats Had a few dramas alternator shit the bed on the way up ended up in repcos carpark for a while trying to mend the old one. But it was beyond economic repair Found one that was close enough on the shelf and with some questionable wiring and spacing it was made to fit Saturday we left the pack and went af far north as the south island allowed It's been pretty rumbly in the back for a while now and @RUNAMUCK proclaimed with absolute certainty that it was a left rear wheel bearing . And that he could smell gear oil with his all smelling nose . And for a second time he was correct about the faintest of oil leaks that hadn't even presented itself outside of the brake drum yet And the wheel bearing was pretty toasted too. So todays job was replacing them Quick trip to butler auto for some hg holden bearings and then slipped them on with a press all nipped up this arvo and nice and quite

I've had issues with my down pipe cracking too. Have welded flat bar down it to hopefully hold it together. I also see over 700 degrees pretty regularly. I also cant get a flexi until it's near the chassis due to space constraints witch will be half my problem as there is a lot of weight hanging off it
