Is it possible to make the alternator moveable like most things?
-
Prob cos the power steer pump moves

If it bothers you that much. Sand it back and repaint. Cant flat and buff matt without it going shiny
-
Rubber grease is the best. Wipe off excess afterward and what's left normally soaks into the rubber with time

I have a sagola gt3 that's a decent gun. 1.8 tip from memory Dont be tempted to buy a cheap shit one as a good even coat of epoxy/primer is the first step to a good paint job. I cant speak for the iwata az3 specifically but I also have a w400 for a top coat gun and is decent for the money.

I work for auto restorations ltd. We work on stuff like this on the day to day. Most of the mechanics are top notch. Even @Bluebear01 works here too. I am panel though so I cant ruin it to much. Haha

+1 for CBC We use them at work and I use them myself for my one cars. Never had a bad job from them Safe r brakes can some times be better for old shit like that as they stock a lot of older parts

Good progress. Welding them back together is the best feeling. Boot floor is a work of art. No small feat making a panel like that. Good shit -

I'll add to the stretch of main rd before the pelorus bridge is pretty punishinh if you cant maintain 80k + And day 3 has a good tarmac stretch from nelson to st Arnaud so top speed helps here. -

I guess whats your end goal with it @EpochNZ a pinto with a 32/36 webber and a 5 speed will be a good drivable motor that will last and not cost the earth. Im sure that @- i5oogt - can assit with sortinh a set of headers and a decent carb for it to liven it up a bit -

Is the blue shell manual or auto? Getting a manual box to go behind the pinto motor may be the most expensive part of the exercise -
Yeah still wof an reg somewhere. I sold it about 5 years ago The tail gate on the wagons weights about 120kg so balances the car out well so they handle. Mine also had the sway bar and sump guard from a mk3 fitted to tighten the front end up. Used to handle pretty good for lever arm shocks up front still haha

Seeing your thread makes me miss my old wagon This was my only car for over a year. Lowered 2' on widened steelies with original centre trim and beauty rings Was a riot on gravel roads. But had a tendency to grade the centre flat....
