  1. The rocketeer swap jag /mondeo/ mazda v6. - very nice swap kit very expensive but sounds like they are selling individual parts now Nissan v6 looks easier as the inlet is already super low
  2. Buy a power file / finger sander thingy - perfect for stuff like that - air ones are cheap as or toolshed 240v version - belts are $1.99 for 3
  3. Well yes potentially you could put a 13b and max speeding rods finest quality China adjustables back in it with bent tin engine mounts and a driveshaft loop made of painted cardboard and get a vtnz warrant no worries mate
  4. Steel tube thin wall 1.2 or 1.6 so much better than wood for a caravan - you may be able to get some of those curves rolled if you can figure out what radius you need will save a lot of pie cutting
  5. Valve retainers / collets / whatever holds the spring onto the valve it was the ze ones have been known to fall in half and wreck engines from there - probetalk forums seems to have died completely and so much knowledge on kl is lost in cyberspace
  6. I thought link did an mx5 plug and play they were on special a while back ? Or does that not work with 2000 model ? Vvti ?
  7. Have you seen the "crapengineering " mx5 subframes from uk ? Look as good as v8 roadsters and have many options - I have thought about importing a non painted one and getting it thru TAC approval if one passes TAC is that it then all others good to go or is it TAC for every individual subframe ?
  8. Yup same now I have had another look dunno where I got that from and I even asked the same question on here ages ago when I was building a sump and got told no minimum but allow enough room for torque reaction and worn mounts
  9. Not sure on the exact section but most engine will torque enough to close a 7 mm gap unless solid mounted maybe one of our friendly cert dudes will stop by and clarify
  10. Also don't you need at least 20mm clearance between sump and steering rack ? Thats the way I read it ?
  11. Looking good and you could use stock injector setup or the ports in throttle bodies also that rocker cover vent that links the two covers together can be deleted - later klg4 engines don't have the link and no adverse effects or fit pcv valve to there and block other 2 as I guess stock pcv valve hole is right under an intake runner ?
  12. Had a rover v8 in my 85 lux double cab on lpg only the good = lux is lighter than a Range Rover -rover v8 is lighter than a Toyota 2.4 diesel + cool noises + cheap to run and no road tax here the bad = rover v8 - old style rope main rear seal + the tendency for rover 3.5 s to warp heads and then excess crank case pressure - the 4.6 s later on ran less head bolts and less warping .... th other thing - rover sump gets in the way of the front axle torque arm
  13. Ah ok easy I had no idea the nc was still a smooth case box thought it was an aisin like the six speed
  14. Um is there pictures or more details of this somewhere ?
  15. Maybe easier to cut/ weld the left ( passenger) side rocker cover to gain more clearance as it's way higher than the other cover and does not need to be higher than the spark plug valley - I looked at doing similar with you on the not cutting bonnet or adding scoop that's the easy option not the what the hell is under there surprise option
  16. Oi ... I did some v6 stuff today - you guys have it easy with the front sump chassis and the precision tools - I did some machining with a hacksaw and a file
  17. Grille being made from alloy angle tile edging ? Or the cd rack behind the van ?
  18. Front axle torque arm removed completely ? Makes for interesting braking if it's gone ... like truck goes to the left and steering wheel goes to the right ... or does the high steer kit remove that problem ?
  19. Thanks for the link and the translation into normal person speak
  20. fun fact not all vehicles need an authority card to run a full cage- rules- A roll-cage may be positioned within the B-Zone of a low volume vehicle occupant cell, provided that (a) the vehicle is not a modified production Class MA, with unitary body construction, which has a permanent roof structure; does that exactly describe an mx-5 ? Also "head restraint " is that meaning seats with headrests or are we talking Hanz device restraint system ?
  21. Interested in that question too as I have removed a bonnet rib further back nowhere near hinge or catch
  22. Mx5 box or early rx7 is the closest fit for kl v6 still need adapter kl v6 all the things ... can get ford rocker cover for them or Barra turbo for modern version of the cortina 4.1 straight 6
