I thought the white roof wasn't standard, but done later? My Dad bought a new blue mini'thou which changed from a blue roof to white after they treated the rust around the top seam so assumed all the white ones just had repairs done? Agree it looks better in white though.

Another moment of stupidity and I'm now the owner of a 32 channel Calrec S analog mixing desk. I figured it's a winter project with the assumption that it's going to freeze over for the next decade and I'll then emerge with a 3ft beard and a completed desk. The unit came with tons of spares, reportedly cost upwards of $750k when purchased in the early 2000's and there won't be a person here that hasn't heard the results of this desk. Its both a bit of NZ broadcasting history and also an interesting project to add to the collection and help to kit out my retro analog sound room/studio when it's completed. In it's current naked state What it's supposed to look like. It takes a truckload of cards like this

If you haven't had any luck, buy a logic probe, fairly cheap. Sounds like either a bad chip/joint like you said, the probe will let you know if you are getting count states and triggers etc without the need for guessing

Cheers rusty, theres a video in the OS drags pic thread, none of it as a weed blower. Yet. It's a load of fun to ride as a normal bike, even though I'm way to big for it I find it really comfortable compared to the mountain bike so I built a second cruiser for the kids to ride, 3rd one being built at present.

Another interesting use in this form, when it's not creating future customers for the local hearing aid supplier its an awesome weed blower. Very effective on concrete, not so much on grass as it has a tendency to scorch things which in itself in another bonus as there's not usually a lot of weed/rubbish left to throw in the bin either.
