  1. Hard to find a good one now. Getting expensive. Cases are usually stuffed. But yep if you have a "turbo" pattern block (former th350 or th400) then it will bolt up. Or a conversion plate can be used if trimatic pattern.
  2. Yeah been around for about 20yrs or more
  3. Use VHT anodised spray paint. Paint over the chrome to get the anodised gold colour. Did this years ago when i couldn't get the engine accessories i wanted in the colours i wanted.
  4. There isnt a carby on the engine so hence looking around at what is available. So cant compare if jets etc would be interchangeable. Yeah ive heard about alot of new carbies that require a strip and clean before use due to swarf. I guess quality control inspections wont catch everyone? The main thing i was wondering is if they work well, once up and going. Such as no issues with transition from idle to WOT etc or if they flow the same as original or if even jetted the same etc. Ive even seen some carburetors where they have made the jets etc none changeable/removeable which is crap. Elec choke isn't needed. I just used that link as an example. Id actually prefer a manual choke set up. Thamks for the offer Joe, but sadly the postage would be a killer, as im from Australia.
  5. I run an Accu-spark unit in my car. Works great. Very easy to fit. No more point issues. Which was alaays a problem with my car.
  6. Has anyone used/tried one of these weber copies from ebay before? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183730335652 are they any good or a pile of junk? will genuine weber parts fit? cant seem to find a good 2nd hand genuine one for a decent price (these are about the same price as a pile of crap 2nd hand carby). Cheers.

    Dead Generator

Had a blackout so went for my generator but no go. Pulled it apart looking for the issue next day and seems the ignition coil is kaput. I dont have a book manual for it anymore and dr google hasn't helped with a part no. Etc. Its an old Robin r650 4stroke (just a small unit but good for lights etc) From what i can see its a subaru ey-08 engine. Ebay etc just seem to show ign coils for ey-20 engines. Anyone be able to point me out with a part number or a compatible unit to use etc? Cheers
  8. Thanks been trying several wreckers and British specialist spares around Australia but zero luck. Will have to keep looking
  9. Look slotted. I guess now to find someone/somewhere with some for sale lol
  10. Cheers. Anyone have a pic of what they look like? Ie a solid style or holes or slots etc.
  11. Mini are 10" Ha and hb are 12" Not sure on hc or victor. Im after 13"
  12. Hi I thought Id ask here as we don't have many Vauxhall's here in Australia. Im trying to find some 13" factory style steel rims with the 101.6mm pcd. Does anyone know what model Vauxhall may have had them? Victor, Cresta etc? Cheers.
  13. Hey mate. Good to see the lil waGoon is still going strong! Still jealous we don't have viva goons in Australia.
  14. Always liked the mini. I don't know the colours but do know most manufacturers had similar colours just different shades and names. The HR Holden had a colour called finisterre green i think its called. And usually with a white roof. This sorta combo looks good on an old mini. Used to work on an old 850 auto in this sorta colour combo. Actually didn't go to bad. Was expecting a snail to over take it. So if yours is manual you will probably be fine. Definitely steelies (body colour coded) and chrome hubcaps. I prefer the solid windscreen visor over the mesh. Can be a pain when sun comes thru the mesh and makes anouying light patterns over the windscreen etc when your cruising. lol.
  15. It can depend on the battery too. CAT batteries used to sit on the shelf dry and you would then pour in the water etc and "activate" it. If they're like that they can probably sit for years.
  16. I don't know how heavy they are or how big? But the GM ecotec 4cyl engine may be something to look at. Pretty sure the late model Camaro has a 2L turbo alloy 4cyl. 205kw or something like that. Should punt the HB along pretty well. Lol
  17. Was just out the front and a suzuki carry all?? Tray back thing cruises past. (Pretty sure they were 2 stroke originally? ?) Some silly fucker has dropped what sounds like a Harley engine in it. Lol Actually didn't seem to go too bad either.
  18. The original 1159cc is only about 80kg all up i think. Thats turn key all accessories (no box)
  19. Want to hear a v12 jag at full noise being driven angrily?? Just watch the mid '80s bathurst videos. Tom Walkinshaw used to race one in '84-'85 i think. Thats actual Jag v12 as they used to be run as per show room.
  20. We've stopped using the dollys over here. The cops have declared that the vehicle being towed (on the dolly) is still technically on the road as 2 wheels are on it. Therefore the towed vehicle must be registered and road legal. So if you use it for a race car etc they pull you over and defect the race car and fine you for unregistered vehicle. Bastards. They were very handy trailer for people with no room etc. Thats when i bought my banana back.
  21. Oh. I did forget. You'd need an adapter plate for the trans to engine.
  22. Sensor for what? The vn th700 is hydraulic. Only wiring they have is for the lockup clutch solenoid. And thats easy to wire up a loom to operate. You will need a trans cooler. And linkage setup for the throttle pressure cable and a shifter (cable shifter will give you the flexibility for position you need)- b&m, hurst, lokar etc.
  23. Thee weight won't be the issue. Its the fact it has the aerodynamics of a brick. To get moving you need ratio and hp. Lacking hp (read stock 202) you need ratio. So low diff ratio (3.7-4.11 etc) issue then is high rpm at 100kph. How do you comprise? You dont. You go overdrive. Its why we fitted a th700 4spd auto. Has a lower 1st gear than the 3spd auto and it also has overdrive and a lockup clutch. Which helps heaps. If you're gonna stay manual then a vh/vk 5spd or celica/supra 5spd manual would be the go. We went auto as it was easier to set up for shifter etc. And anyone can drive an auto. Plus holiday laziness.
