Same with the samurai, it would destroy a set of brake shoes in ~6 months. The 70 series Prado has disc rear... still drum park brake.
  2. Threeonthetree had a sleeping bag from the warehouse that said it was good down to 0ยบ or something like that. Wasn't very big in it's stuff sack and had compression straps on the sack too. Fyi
  3. Drums in the rear yeah? Drive for about 100m with a bit of pressure on the brake pedal to warm them, then see if they're still grabby
  4. School me please, does the bigger piston trail the smaller/the disc gets to the smaller one first? Or the other way around?
  5. Some sort of a grille thing.
  6. Gold fish chocolate star for you sir
  7. Yeah I believe all vans are mk1 2 door floor pans
  8. Also fun fact, Pinto exhaust valves are towards the front, and intake behind. The last guy didn't know this and set all the intakes loose, and the exhausts tight. Fun fact #2, #3 exhaust adjustment is almost impossible to get to behind a Weber
  9. Started making a grille Who can tell me what that is made of? Cold now, hungry, going inside
  10. Flushed out the cooling system again, changed the thermostat which was opening too early when I tested it, and changed the temperature sender as well for good measure. Now the gauge goes to just under half and stays there. Also ran the hose through the heater core and got a bit of rusty goop from that, now I have a heater that gets warm. I'll have to pull it one day and get it rodded to really get it working properly. Made a false floor extension so we can sleep in the back Which also doubles as a hole cover panel
  11. Hanmer time! Last minute! Found the oil leak that was covering everything in the engine bay that I thought was one of the front seals, turned out to be a bit of a design flaw on Fords part. I found that the no2 exhaust lobe is almost directly under the oil filler cap, and flicking oil up into the oil cap. Now this wouldn't usually be a problem except that the filler cap is also the fresh air intake for crankcase breathing, so it's not sealed. So oil was soaking through the cap and being chucked around by the air from the engine fan. Solution? I made a wee shield on the bottom of the rocker cover between the lobe and the spout. Changed the cover seal too as it was a bit leaky and chucked it back on without getting a picture of the underside, so you'll just have to look through the hole ^.
  12. Sounds to me like he's giving you Barry reasons to keep it stock

My rear chassis xmember has actually been replaced with box section of the same size and has gussets that look like the original. Very professionally done actually. The factory ones tend to bow after many good pulls on the centre mount
  14. Lift the vehicle up on its side and shake vigorously
  15. A magnet on a stick, if you're lucky Punk
  16. I've done it with a heat gun. It doesn't take much, heat the whole curve and bend it slowly. Stretch the outside and sides rather than try and compress the inside of the curve

The springs should settle a bit. The second leaf wrap goes at the front. But I think you figured it out. I put my own back Windows in with a bit of rope, let me know if you need pointers. Monster trucks!
