  1. This still happening even with the rain this morning?
  2. Havn't seen it mentioned anywhere yet... Doesn't Mark usually organise these? Anyone know if this is going to be happening this year? Think its usually same weekend as the Kumeu hotrod show..
  3. ^ lol..... I don't think there is any other word to describe the last two post...
  4. I've had a quick search through this thread. Whats teh go with 'bolt on flares' Do you only need a cert if you have to cut the original inner guards? Do you have to have the newly cut inner/ outter guards welded together? - does this have to be done by a certified welder/ panel shop? would you have to fill in the gap between the flare and the original body line with something? After you cut the guards - how does this affect the cert process? I'm trying to run 9" wid=e wheels on a aa60 carina on the back. Cheers
  5. PLUS YOU'VE got to have a licence... Might be worth it if you could buy heaps and then on sell somehow?
  6. If you were getting NOS from us at BOC for $600 you were getting a sweet deal... Just looked it up for you ( you will need a license to buy from us - ie a legit workshop etc ) $2051 + GST. That's for a "G" size cylinder which is our large ones... there is a chap over in East Tamaki that does fills ( he buy's our cylinders and then fills smaller ones for bikes etc ) that might be the best way about it, as obviously you'd be charged for rental on that G which is over $20 a month as well.
  7. booooo. I've got some 87mm T3 RCA's off a ke30. brand new, $50 a pair. haha.
  8. bit of a bump... //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/41817-fiends-aa60-carina-daily/?hl=aa60 Got wiring left to go, general tidy up ( scrape off the stupid plastidip ) decide on a wheel colour and get powdercoated + start playing around with the fibreglass pieces and ae92 bumper. Trying to decide on a colour to dye the TA63 celica seats as well either thinking grey or black to suit door cards..
  9. I thought I might update this... So the car got pink stickered around august 2014, for the guards rubbing into the rear tyres... So its pretty much been sitting around since then. I've managed to go through a few different setups for it, including a 20V with SamQ rwd kit + coil on plugs, now a SR20DE on twin sidedrafts. Basically, i've had the lower control arms cut and welded so I can get the camber somewhere towards the factory settings. Wrecked a Ka67 carina wagon, which had a mint uncracked dash and a few other bits and pieces I used. Wrecked a TA63 Celica hatch and notch, pilfered parts including the turbo front seats, the bigger front sway bar. Removed the electric fender mirrors and sold to Nathan on here. Had some springs made up for the rear end, hilux shocks modded and fitted. Adjustable pan hard rod made up. Full new exhaust. Had a driveshaft loop made up, Radiator mounts, Engine mounts and gearbox crossmember and a driveshaft made up. The SR20DE is out of a S14 with 40mm dellorto's which came out of a escort rally car, the carb's came with the ignition and fuel setup/ some groovy extractors. I also bought a spoiler off of Sheepers months ago to try cut and lengthen as a basis. I've also chucked on some BR's which are 15x9 -20 offset, and a 15x8 0 offset. I've recently just bought some "wide body" rear flares which i'll also attempt to mod and make fit. I'm hoping all this with the corolla bumper should make it look a tad tough, plus with dort dort dort noises shortly, it should be interesting...
  10. Will speak to dad, I know his contract ends up at Massey High school this December.. He's an older bloke obviously, and he's been in the building game for 35+ years now... Not sure if he'll suit you guys or not, but i'll forward you his number if that sounds sweet?
  11. Its on the 30th at Juice, and at the Kings Arms... Think its just a semi final as well... Apparently: http://www.battleofthebands.co.nz/showvenue_bands.php?id=14&venue=Kings%20Arms&through=&eventdate=2014-10-30 http://www.battleofthebands.co.nz/showvenue_bands.php?id=21&venue=Juice%20Bar&through=&eventdate=2014-10-30
  12. Only got a 20v blacktop 7age now boss.
  13. What are 1G's like as a manual? ( Just bought one to throw into my Carina ) I've had one in a stupid ass auto Chaser - and I only drove it for a week before I swapped it for a B18CR integra... Which in my opinion was a whole heap more fun... As a Manual do they have more get up and go? Or they still really underpowered type things.. Is the Turbo conversion worth doing? I'm use to quick and responsive 4age's and other 4 cylinders so havn't really got a clue what 2 more cylinders play out like...
  14. Finally got a discussion, so discuss shit. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/41817-fiends-aa60-carina-daily/?hl=aa60 I don't know what I really want from the car at the moment. Aside from a semi reliable daily. So will be getting cert when I get around to it and fix some rusty stuffs on it. And the new motor. And a few other bits and bobs. Shout us your idea's and shit.
  15. Looking a bit low at the moment :/ Got the rears sussed out. Got to 'relow' the front another 25mm so its even (95mm all around) Not sure if I'm Gay Dee EM yet, but these should help:
  16. So you could 9AGTE this? Mhmmmm... I think there is some carib's or something that come out with all the 4wd 7afe's?...
  17. Redrill the hub? Get new studs? An engineer should be able to do it for you easily enough? I don't know if its legal? Nor how safe it would be lol.
  18. I'll come. If I can find a driver + put in shocks/ springs in rear + fit ducktale by sunday. There's another cruise thingie happening on Saturday too. But I thnik its going to end up being mostly the Honda/Silvia boys..
  19. Ae85/6 in the garage for sale? Hahahahhaha. I do like the twin headlights...
  20. Small update: Got the front coilovers in. Thats currently at its highest setting, and thats the most positive camber I can get :/ Rides like utter shit at the moment, re doing the rears - again as I had trouble with wheels fitting in the rear guards for wednesdays meet hopefully... Pity I won't have my ducktale on it for then either Oh and got me a nice red Sparco reclinable, just to match the outside. (The seat is old, dirty and worse for where so it matches the outside perfectly)
  21. Going to try get someone to drive my carina. Its completely on its arse with silvia coilovers at the moment. Just need the rears done and the ae86 ducktail chucked on. Should be goooooood.
  22. Hey, I've had a quick search and havn't found anything. This will be the first time i'm going through the cert process. Its my daily so going to cert then eventually recert just so I can continue to daily it. Plan is to chuck coilovers in it and slam it. I was wondering if you pay for the cert and then they run the WoF process? Do you have to get the WoF through the cert guy? ( as i've still got 4 months of WoF left ) so if I went and paid for the cert process, this would pretty much make my current and valid warrant obsolete? Are the testing that the cert guys do real strict? Like VTNZ strict? Or is it much like the normal WoF guy? I havn't really found much? I assume when they do the testing, they go over the entire car? Not just the coilovers or whatever you wanted to get certified? Just say if my car fails on rust in guards or something like that, would I have to pay for the entire cert ($600) process again if I can't fix in it the 28days? Sorry if this has been answered. Cheers
  23. This from club-k "you probs dont wana hear it but I just cut my springs all round. Then Got front shocks from a ae92 GT for the front of the carina and spaced them from the top with abit of tube to fit in the strut snug. In the back you have to get real short to be shorter then stock. I think they are about the same as ke70 wagon in length. I used hilux front shocks in the rear and just drilled out around the rubbers and inserted the old shocks rubbers with alittle help from soap and water. The car drove real nice. Pretty sure cutting out a coil or coils makes the spring stiffer. I always do this and always get away with it as I say they are compressed. "
  24. Kurt, you know what springs and shocks they use? Been told that you can you use hilux front shocks in the rear and then just cutties and it'll keep them captive? I was only looking at the IRS for diff upgrade/ turning car into a track car eventually and better ratio's so I can make use of a 9,500rev limit lool...
