  1. Fuck i love how this thing is either idling or screaming and flinging shit everywhere.
  2. Look sweet on D windows and nobbly tyres too.
  3. Straighten the camber out tyres that fit the rims that's a slick car but as it is it looks broken.
  4. I call it the bong principle
  5. If your going to run an airbox your breathers would go into that. But you have individual filters right? If so tee them buggers together and vent them at the ground or if your keen tap the inlet manifold and fit a pcv valve. Having your crankcase under vacuum does help keep the oil in a British engine.
  6. Why not run a single big SU carb? A 2 inch off a jag or something similar they can also handle blow thru duties if you decide later on you wanted an intercooler in there. I ran a supercharger off a lancia volumex on a triumph 2 litre 6 cylinder with mechanical injection made some gorgeous sounds when it ran right which was about 70% of its short life as a skid hack.
  7. If you can get a detachable boss kit easy enough why not machine up an adapter and bolt on a triumph 2.5 steering wheel good condition ones are easy to find as everyone swaps them for smaller wheels. I say bolt on as they run 6 bolts 2 per spoke.

    PAINT THREAD

Ive got to get back into painting i did a vehicle refinishing course 20 years ago when dulon was all the rage..... is anyone playing around with water based automotive paint yet? I like the idea of it Whats it like.
  9. See if you have voltage at the plugs to bulbs. Whip bulbs out and see if they go power up off your battery ive had both bulbs blow on me driving off the ferry in picton at 11pm it can happen.
  10. Has taken a bit longer than that to get a decent progressive pedal again first few stops were sketchy as heaps of smoke and pedal travel. Have fed it a few litres of fluid nothing flash yet wanted to clear out 15 years of old stuff. Pedal is great now pulls up real damn quick with no fuss for such a heavy car im calling slotted BREMBOS a decent improvement over stock. It was running police spec pads before too That were Pwr brand i think now im running Mintye semi metallic, good pads not much dust so far, Hmm track day will show how good though 1/4 mile first.
  11. I see your point that sounds like a cunt of a job. Theres someone out there that does these bastard jobs for a living just gotta ring around.
  12. I had all the spark plugs helicoiled on my gsxr 250 15 years ago by panmure motorcycles. head stayed on and its still going i know its a bike shop but they're work has stood test of time for me a car would be 20x easier than my bike was, worth a try bet they would do it.
  13. Thread dredge! I sold off the red car and have set to work on turning the wick up a bit on the super 6, within the limits of what my wof man approves of. Ive opened up the back end of the exhaust system by getting rid of the feeble twin into single pipework, it still is twin into single but has gone to bigger pipe with no rear muffler its slightly louder (surprisingly not alot) and doesn't drag its muffler out of driveways. Secondly, ive upgraded the front brakes to curve slotted Brembo rotors and police spec pads, I also threw in a trademe "performance" memcal supposed to give 195kw its given the old girl a fair bit of a boost supposed to be a HSV XU6 tune. The thing im most pleased with is how much crisper the trans shifts and the power mode actually makes it perform better now instead of just shifting later. Next planned thing is more boost 10psi is about the limit to where these motors stop making gains and just make noise and hot air without an intercooler, with one however the sky or head gaskets is the limit. If anyone has a old extra injector controller or water alcohol injector system let me know.
  14. They're on and bedding in. Once the bedding in is over will pump some more fresh fluid through the whole system bled up as best i could using kids to pump the brakes for me. The dreaded shudder is gone so very happy this far, the old pads which weren't more than 1/4 worn had a weird wave looking wear pattern on them.
  15. Package arrived normally i hate it when the wrong stuff arrives. SLOTTED BREMBOS! On this occasion im happy with this substitution.
  16. Pretty sure it was because you could jam a fist fill of swarf or steelo pads in em and bolt the plates back on to pass a wof then fish it all back out minutes after. I remember my sisters boyfriend raiding under our kitchen sink for pot scourers back in the 90s to pass a warrant.
  17. This is definitely a doing things once and right exercise. If im changing rotors i thought i might as well have the best within my budget so i dont warp the shit out of them again or crack them because i bought ones with "holes" everywhere.
  18. Im not sure about resin pistons will know once i pull it to bits has near new pads in it from last owner. How will it effect new fluids?
  19. Install rag in fuel tank (forget the rover part number right now) light and walk away. This will clear most issues in the modern rover.
  20. I got a decent deal on the znoelli rotors otherwise would have hit the Rda stuff. Hopefully will get parts arriving Thursday afternoon so i can get onto fitting new bits over weekend.
  21. Those were on my watchlist but i couldn't find any feedback on the brand and shipping on top from oz right? I may give em a bash in the back though. Loving super 6 holden though such a toy, v8 power on a v6 budget.
  22. Edit Just bought slotted znoelli's and police spec pads. And a chip an exhaust and a 10 psi pulley kit..... go and stop this is a first for me.
  23. Have narrowed options to brembo replacements or znoeli dimpled and slotted rotors with police spec pads. theres some no name brand stuff with a zillion holes and slots cut into them which i wouldn't mind betting will crack up with moderate abuse once, they arent any cheaper than the 2 above brands either. Will the above options for brake fluid work with ABS happily?
