ProZac
I fitted (well, actually it was Dad) an aerotech rear spoiled to one once, and I remember us commenting on how it was going to invite rust. If I were to do it again I'd just glue it on, no drilling of holes. I'm going to fit a stock 3 piece spoiler to my car, and that's the route I'll go for sure. Loving the progress :-). gibbon
I'm not sure I could pick the difference between an aerotech and a stock 3 piece spoiler? (This one is definitely aerotech, its etched on the underside) One of the mount holes had turned into a big rust hole and another had previously been repaired... I got the buggered one fixed but did end up re-drilling them, I've just been quite diligent with sealing them up (I hope) I've already come to terms with the fact that this car isn't going to be perfect, I'm simply not a good enough bodywork guy. So I'm trying to compromise and come up with something that isn't an embarrassment, but will actually still get finished eventually
ProZac
That is the hardest balance to find, and I've never once managed to pin it down. Now I just enjoy the process. (That's 'bullshit' for 'incapable of finishing anything').
gibbon
Hey while I've got you on the line, do you have any lowering springs for a starion on the shelf? This thing sits super high (might be clearance for the kit - will be funny to find out) Olds cool can do cobras for about 450 shipped, mookeh in the USA can do a similar price, with 250 of that being shipping! So probably worth it if I can get them into a container or something
ProZac
The springs in the parts car I've just picked up are yellow, so they're likely aftermarket ones. I'll see if I can find any deets on them :-).

gibbon
couldve done more on the car today but too pissy about the paint can debacle. havent had a beer in two days but this shit is pushing me to the limit
ProZac
Right in the feels bro :-(. Walk away for a day or two I reckon. That shit sucks, but it wont be as bad as you think it is now, in a couple of days.
lowlancer
Holy shit this is giving me 2006 flashbacks, pissing about with a dash engine is truly punishing (I somehow avoided hydrolocking my engine, though the whole thing was full of water at one point when the MPI unit leaked coolant into the inlet manifold courtesy of my cleaning old gasket from the manifold with a paint stripping disk...so remember there are bigger morons than yourself out there). One suggestion, if you're still running the mental DASH injection setup - get the injectors tested. A couple of mine were misting but were comparatively shit. Rooting for ya to get this on the road.
gibbon
too afraid to get them tested because I'm not sure what my options are if one goes bad! yes still running the factory setup, I thought about fitting up the CA18DET inlet manifold but at that point it's basically less work to do the evo head swap I just bought a GSR-V workshop manual from yahoo japan. wasn't cheap and all in japanese but google translate is pretty magic these days. i'd say an english version doesn't exist except that when I bought my car, amongst the shitload of spares was ONE tantalising page torn out of an english manual describing the DASH valve system
bigfoot
I have an innovate wideband here you could have. I resoldered the lead on the sensor after my car tried to set itself on fire. Also have the computers and air flow meter off that motor you got from me if you wanted to try them

Also have the computers and air flow meter off that motor you got from me if you wanted to try them fuck I'm so filthy about this AEM wideband. It has literally less than five minutes of runtime on it and it's fucking dead. how? why? I just want to sort out the oil burning issue first. originally it was just smoking all the time but I blanked the oil feed to the turbo and held the compressor with my finger while the car idled, and there was no smoke until I revved up and backed off, then there was a big puff of blue smoke. obviously the turbo inlet was off while I was doing that so there was no PCV function, hopefully that's all that's causing it. not too pleased about having to pull the turbo and wondering AGAIN if I should just yoink the engine out at that point and pop the spare one in also the windscreen wipers occasionally twitch randomly. only seen this once before on an E100 corolla, and a few days later it spontaneously combusted

There might be built up carbon in it. I had this in my honda so the relay would click constantly, but not quite enough volts to get the wiper to activate
