mjrstar
A decent 2 1/2 inch exhaust system will be fine for a 1g without sneaky oil system mods. My kp was running a mandrel bent 2 1/2 and it was making an honest 245kw. I expect somewhere around 280 wheel kw a 3 inch system would be netting decent gains. But your 1G will give up its #6 big end bearing at that power level.

I wouldnt mind getting anither engine and build that from scratch with all the oil system properly.
Beaver
Will that not get real crap/restricted air flow? Or does it not matter being a turbo?
d.p.n.s
Will that not get real crap/restricted air flow? Or does it not matter being a turbo? Should be OK man it will have an air feed going to the air bix once I get a bonnet. And the air feed opening in the air box for the turbo is 80mm x220mm funnelled down to 3 ". And I didn't want a pod filter.
Beaver
Sweet as, it just looks like the filter will be real close to the bonnet/get suffocated. I trust you, its OK.

If need be the filter could be dropped into the box another 30mm

mjrstar
Fine Sir, A ford telstar thermostat top cover will bring much cooling system happiness if you want a radiator with the top hose on the drivers side. If however you want the top hose on the passengers side please ignore.

mjrstar
All i did was take the old thermostat cover and go shopping at super cheap for thermostat gaskets.. the closest i found which gave a better angle i think was from a pre 1990 4 cylinder telstar. Who knows what sort of motor they have in them.. it did need the mount holes hooned out slightly but works sweet as... Probably a pic in my 1G starlet thread.

e30-323ti
Like what you've done with the Airbox, very tidy. What are the plans' for the 5x108 diff? Leave as-is with some widened Mondeo Steelies could be a goer...
d.p.n.s
Yeah. Leave it 5x108 cos if it shits axles then I don't have to bother redrilling axles...might just redrill the front out the same... I was going to run Steele's widened to fit so might just use ovlov Steele's
