This is my 1986 hr31 coupe project. Iv had the car for about 6 years now and been plagued with problems ever since buying it, but havent given up yet. As it sits it has an R32 rb20det with front faceing intake a Turbonetics T3/T4 a Megga squirt ECU,GTR 440 injectors and all normal bolt on junk. When it gos it gos pritty good was meant to be makeing just under 400hp at wheels at 20psi acording to tuner who did ECU install.

Sweet HR31 coupe. Fairly sure I've seen this not far from where I live.

Is it any relation to the multicoloured one with the bodykit that lurks in the same area, supposedly with a 1JZ under the bonnet (if the rumours are true)?

I havent seen or heard of one near me with a 1jz, mine did once have a kit on it but found some good factory bumpers and sold of kit. I know there is a guy with a stock standard black one down spamfarm ways, he may have done an engine swap havent talked to guy in few years.

I am a tragic when it comes to this stuff - I have some Nismo endcaps sitting in the garage but haven't fitted them as I like the clean lines of the stock shell.   IMHO they won't match the style of body as it sits - you need a comparative kit in front of the wheels as well.

Enjoy them as objects of automotive art for a bit longer before fitting......

Main reason im thinking of fitting them is cos the rims im running are spaced right out on rear so lot of tyre is showing, so it throw's stone's up a bit when driveing. There is a side skirt kit that you could get of nissan for them but very hard to get now.

Have just heard from the insurance that the tender for fixing garage door is over and they have a guy who's gonna come fix it, so maybe in next couple of weeks will be able to access the car and get it assessed at my work. I can fix it at work will just depend on what insurance values it at and if can get parts.

My boss said he will get the painter to give it a full respray if its not a write off so might come out better of then went in to this mess.

Yeah that sucks.

Your garage is miles from that corner! must have been going far too quick to make the turn.

(Yeah, one of your later pics gave it away, I recognise the jeep)

True yeah that safari used to stand out, the painter at my old shop painted when we had our works end of year piss up few years back, prob should of waited till we were sober to choose the colour. I ended up getting a minter swb with no rust.

Insurance has written it of and will pay me out in next month or so, when they decide on how much it is worth after going over the two valuations i have had done. i get to keep the wreak but they have de registered as part of the rules so there is no point in fixing it now, so will have parts for sale soon if anybody needs r31 bits?

Sad :( Hope you get a decent payout. Nothing worse than letting the insurance company deregister the car, then receiving a letter a month later saying "actually, we're only going to give you <super low amount>."

Are you planning to find another R31 coupe, or build up something else instead? I have a couple of friends that may be after R31 bits so will hit them up. I don't suppose you're interested in selling the whole thing?

As of today got my 2nd valuation back at $15,000 same as my first one. Now State insurance want a fourth valuation paid for by them as they dont believe my two to be correct! even though the valuations were done by registered valuers and one valuer i used was one of states prefured valuation companys. They are sticking by there first valuation of $7000.

I was told by State i needed 3 valuations the first one they paid for and two i pay for if i was un happy with the first one they had done. So now i think its time to get fair go involved as they just keep moving the goal post's! Its been 6 months since the driver crashed in to my garage and i have done all they asked but they still dont want to pay me what car is worth.

contact the insurance ombudsman service (free i believe?).

that will probably put the shits up state.

they were cunts to my mate, who's car was stolen/recovered and refused to pay out until they disposed of it at auction. for a grand total of $1500, and took 3 months to sort out.
