KKtrips
Can you get sandwich plate to go between oil filter and block? Thats where I have my oil temp and pressure senders. Have had oil temp up to 140degrees on the track so seems to be a decent place to tell you oil is getting hot From memory VW aircooleds have the oil filter in the sump pan - so there is no where you can slot it between...edit - like this
KIRK
from experience of planes with big vw engines lol. cht is best and fastest indicator. pressure and temp = meh. they will follow suit. maybe just retain the low oil pressure light. cletus
did you figure out why it overheated? i thought vws were pretty much impossible to cook unless the fan stops working or the shrouds arent fitted properly
Seedy Al
haha, my fan broke not sure how long i was driving till i noticed the generator light was on. maybe only a couple of mins, but was enough to get hot, only keen to get one now as i have a very un kown spec engine, so i guess will see and yeah, i have seen the snadwitch plates around, but i lack this thing you call a filter. Llama
0-120 degrees & 0-160 psi Smiths dual gauge - supposed to be for oil and water almost at bottom of page http://www.gaugeguys...ths/classic.htm These gauges would probably do, but do be warned the bulbs are a pain in the arse. Wiring them is slightly a pain, and if they break you might as well get a new one. (I've heard it is possible to repair, but looks rather tricky and might not work the same)
