Firmer engine mount options?

Perfect. That's a really good point. I'm sure people have had some success with the urethane sandwich but it sounds like solid engine mounts with rubber gearbox mount is the way to go. I can always change back to factory if they are hell. Thanks for the up to minute ruling to.

Simon, would solid mounting not help the drivetrain feel more positive? I may end up going for some harder rubber mounts but I want to try solid first and go from there. Fortunately they're very easy to change.

dont get a urethane/nolathane bush and run a bolt right thru the mount/xmember/bush like a lot of people do, specially with rotaries. if you are going to do that use a solid bush, steel or alloy, if using a compressible bush, the bolt can never be 100% tight and will come loose or oval out the mount holes

Does that still apply if the bush has a steel crush tube in the middle?

Guys have been using "world cup" crossmembers in Escorts for decades now

it just gets dissapated by suspension.

ive done it on 3 cars...two bridgeport rotarys and one crummy bfmr with lumpy broshafts.

it just gently sways side to side a little bit at the lights, its hallerious, the hunnies love it, you can rev it and it will sway like the movies.

your coilover/cuttys nhv will waaaaaay overpower it.

i guess if your dash was made of cornchips...or your talking about a p76 engine like borg!!! :P

First of all, it's you're.. Secondly don't associate me with boat anchors, only good thing about the p76 is they rusted quickly to death.

also, rotaries, hunnies- chicks are easily impressed.

We are taking about a 5K here, surprised it's got enough grunt to break an engine mount.
