LingLing
Hi guys. Do you guys know a reasonable priced place to get my rear hatch struts to rebuild? How long would they last after rebuilt generally? Thank you Andy
EURON8
new ones are cheap. get a mobile dude out. he will just build some to suit. Ages. The ones that you currently have are probably the original ones and have lasted a few years

Thousand Dollar Supercar
I've had the ones in my Alfa regassed twice in 8+ years. Pretty sure it cost me more than $24 each. Got it done at some 4x4 specialist place in Glenfield.

LingLing
I've had the ones in my Alfa regassed twice in 8+ years. Pretty sure it cost me more than $24 each. Got it done at some 4x4 specialist place in Glenfield. How come you have to regas it twice in 8 years? Is regasing not as good as brand new ones? I went to New Lynn SAS, says 30+ for each to regas, Repco actually has the struts on special $20-30. but It's either not long enough or have different fitting on both ends. Shit. I probably have to regas it.
SHGWAG
This reminds me, the ones in the FD no longer automatically open the boot when you pop it. I'll see if Mazda sell replacements.
Thousand Dollar Supercar
How come you have to regas it twice in 8 years? Is regasing not as good as brand new ones? Because Italian car? First time was when I bought it, then again a year or two back because the hatch was starting to fall down on cold days. It's a pretty heavy hatch with that 30-degree spoiler, and is deviously designed to smash closed if released from halfway up. People used to Jap cars think it will require assistance to shut, but all it requires is an excuse to take off your fingers.

LingLing
Above answer is correct. I have been to new lynn repco. the guy couldn't help me ,I ended up matching them to the shelf myself. Then someone from Hachi Owners told me he got them from repco with part number. 1cm longer, but I have to order ball joint studs. Now problem solved. Could be solved sooner if the Repco dude knew what he is doing.
