wickmyster
How hard would it be to get a vvti 2jz-ge running in an old coon auto or manual? I have the motor here with full enginebay loom from a gs300 and an altezza one plus airflow meter and auto ecu etc... What is the bare basics I need to get it running??? Any info links etc would be great!!!
Hemi
just my opinion but would be way easier to just get a ford v8 and smash that in there, but hey if you want to go for it no doubt the toyota buffs will be all over this soon aye diddy
crustywhip
I shall remove it from my watch list then haha. Skys the limit and wiring is not to tricky if you know some one handy or happy to browse the million threads on the net.

crustywhip
Im just dreaming. I have a vvt 1jz and that went into my car no worries so I should stop looking. I have a wheel and engine disease.
wickmyster
What did you drop the 1J into???? Did you use wiring diagrams or just nut it out??
crustywhip
replaced an m-series engine in a 77 mark2. Student plus datsun = no love for the toyota atm. Im good with wires but its far from being driveable. I did all my reading and research when I first started conversion and there was alot available. Yowzer
I think the VVTi ones use those stupid coded ECUs that require everything else in the car to be plugged into them, or they won't start. So you'd need something aftermarket, Link G4 or some stz
Spencer
Yea late model like that will need the key and a bunch of stuff for the factory ECU to work. Otherwise its like any conversion, mounts, sump clearance, high pressure fuel system etc
wickmyster
This vvti 2J does not need the key etc, it is an earlier vvti one that has been running in a different car before.
Yowzer
In that case, chuck it in and plug up some wires. Piece of piss mate I've heard they bolt right in (with custom engine mounts / sump / exhaust / etc)

Mean, I read altezza and though fail. As said it will go in the hole if that's what the guy wants
