efp0wa
Hi, Need to get driveshaft removed from my van. Gearbox is still mounted, but engine is out. How do I get the driveshaft off? Thanks
Mike-e
undo 4 bolts that hold the flange to the diff, remove any hangers holding the d/shaft to the floor pan, slide out of gearbox. oil will come out box so have a tray ready
efp0wa
I've been trying to get those 4 bolts undone, they are insanely tight. Might go spray some CRC on at lunch time and let it soak.

efp0wa
Handbrake is removed. Shaft isnt spinning anyhow, the bolts just seem seized
fuel
you undo the four driveshaft bolts on the diff input flange, drop the diff end down and then slide it out of the gearbox. Am fairly sure the driveshaft bolts as 12mm with 12/14mm nuts on the end - I just use two long spanners. *edit* beaten by eeee if they are tight and you only have short spanners on you I just put some 17/19mm spanners on the ends of the 12/14mm spanners. Mike-e
yeeap, they're high tensile and are always fucking toight. I usually offset 2 spanners each side but close together, so you can use a squishing action to crack them. can also help giving them a few tonks with a hammer, frees the threads up

kyteler
I'm curious as to how this even got to be a thread. Christ, George, a few bolts need to be undone. Unreal.
