  1. Correct I think, can get more power without hassels. Once you get to 280hp on a S14/15 SR20DET work needs to be done so it doen't fly to bits. Reason why I have a S13 SR20DET in my S15 (to get more power eventually without hassels). A wrecker here in Nelson has a shitload of SR20DE motors, wanted $600 for motor and box last time I spoke to him.

Often...once its there, it can not be removed completely and requries constand scheduled dosing. Are you positive its bug?

  6. 17 December! I know its short notice but a few of the guys from the Nissan Silvia club are having a mini-meet tomorrow. Come along if you like. Meet 12:00pm noon at the carpark outside of Goughs CAT located at 3 Brothers Corner, Richmond. Travel out to rabbit island, there may be a BBQ available so bring along some food to cook up if you feel like it. Would be good to see some Nelson people out there. 8. I'll take a picture. I understand what you are saying though, I think I will just remove the pipe from the exhaust and block it up or crimp it. I will remove the pipe tonight and block it and see if motor still runs well.
  9. It's a odd setup, because the egr valve doesnt go back into the inlet. Or if it does its through a 4mm vacuum hose. Will have a look tomorrow.
  10. Thats all very well but the system consists of a lot of vacuum lines and switch/sensor/solenoid things, so i'm not sure what exactly to leave/remove.
  11. I purchased some extractors for my KP60 Starlet, totaly obvlivous to the EGR crap. Just started labelling and removing everything to get the manifold off and then noticed the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve.... Wouldn't mind removing all that EGR shit, has anyone done it before with sucess and able to run me through what to remove/reroute so motor will still run ok. Or else will I need to get a fitting put on the extractors to hook the factory EGR pipe into? Fuck emission shit fuck it....I was hoping to get the headers on tonight but will have to wait for you lot to advise me (sensibly)
  12. Pressure test that shit dude.
  13. So you would run 1" hose off the turb and into the throttle??
  14. - I tested the thermostatic switch in a pot of water on a gas cooker, slowly warmed it up to hot with the ohm meter connected. I assumed right from the very start that it was faulty as i got a 0 reading and i'm sure it should have a readying of high resistance. - Removed relay and tested it, it clicks on but very very quietly. - Checked voltage at where the relay plugs in and all was well. - Checked voltage at the blue wires from the round plug again and had 0 voltage. - Removed the plug from the thermostatic switch again when everything was plugged back up (fan plugged into blue wires from round plug). Fan didn't start. - Put + probe on the wire that goes to the thermostatic switch and put the - on the switch terminal and had a reading of 12.74. So I hope this testing hopes help people with whats going on to provide me some sort of solution as to what is going on.
  15. Unforutanly as it seems, no one can help me with this issue. I guess the relay or thermostatic switch is stuffed. I purchased a relay, wires and a switch today so I can turn on the fan if I have to. I had it all wired up correctly but the fucking thing wont go. Don't know what i'm doing wrong... Im going for a walk and a beer at the pub, will post up how I wired it when I get back
  16. A guy on club-k.co.nz told me to look for "Plug for the fan is a round white 2 pin connector, Positive is Light Blue with a Orange Stripe, Earth is White with black stripe." Still no luck... Whats the story with the plug that has the bridged wire plugged in?
  17. cheers Snoozin, yes jappa import. k-trips I was more so wanting to check the correct amperage fuses are installed.
  18. Its a 1983 KP61. Has blade fuses and about twice as many as you've posted.
  19. No voltage at the plug for the fan. Can't hear relay turning on or off. Must be shagged? Was hoping I could try another one of the relays but they have a different pin configuration.
  20. I will try that stuff when I get home, cheers man! Fan definately goes too, put power to it yesterday.
  21. Found the plug finally, has the wires chopped (blue/white strip & blue) on the male end. I hooked up the fan directly to the wires and got the mrs to take it for a drive to heat it up. Fan didn't come on, how can I test to see if this is working? Where is the relay? The fuse seems intact.
  22. Are you sure the pump was working? Check the CAS in the engine bay
  23. As above, got no cover on my one.
  24. Hi again. It was the brake prop valve, got another one off trademe for $10 and its sorted the issue so far
