Beaver
right next problem. i have the air screw set to factory (1 3/4) turns out, and it runs fine, but once im maxed out, il put the choke on half and it goes harder. does this mean ive got it set on too much air? CaMpylobacter
prolly means you could afford to upjet? dunno. we had an a50 that was like that. 35mph normal. 55mph two up with choke out spec hah. that mudflap is mean. meant to go back and buy it for my vespa like a year ago

tortron
you can adjust the needle via moving a circlip on these to make it richer or leaner
Beaver
ooo intriguing....is this from the manual or just a trick of the trade thing?

KKtrips
Now you are starting to get into the steam of things - can I ask you paint it matty b - nix the red bits (looks a lil bit like a weird hippys bike - sorry Tori ) and recover the seat in some sweet vinyl or black wetsuit material
Beaver
haha matty b is actually the plan. maybe white fenders, not sure yet, probably just all matty b. and yeh recover the seat in something
mikuni
I think the frame itself looks awesome at the moment. Could have a bit of work to tie everything in but spraying the thing matty b would ruin it imo
Beaver
good point. maybe ill just recover the seat, paint the red foot rests a diffrent colour, clean the engine etc and see what it looks like
tortron
i think the red and black is sweet, i heard ratrods were played out anyways My seat was in similar condition to yours, i redid it in some burgundy vinyl we had lying around Do yours red, il even throw in some white piping

Beaver
does the extra hole in the muff make a difference? louder? i think ive got some caustic soda at home so might try clean out the exhasut with that. not sure what to do with it afterwards though......tip it in the garden? lol

Truenotch
IMO it's easier to build a new exhaust rather than clean it.... And adjusting the needle is easy enough. You can remove it from the carb without taking the carb off, just unscrew the throttle linkage and pop it out. Then either lift or drop the circlip to suit your situation. I've sanded my needle down to a "steep taper" to get more fuel at full throttle, but it still goes best with the choke on full.
Beaver
cheers guys. yeh a new exhasut will be on the cards once i steal horse's welder that im picking up/not giving to him.
