Leebo3
Might be able to do one similar to this, still be pretty tight room wise though Thats a mustang stz one. Sure there is no room under bonnet? Grab some play dough and use that to check if need be.
bubblegoose
or bonnet lifters? full engine bay brace? forgot the ones going back to the firewall
My name is Russell
Have seen speedway escorts do the above Just tested my 4doors one on my FE3 last night, looks like it fits wonder of the CA is taller. Do they go under tension or compression? or both? if tension could you squeeze some strap across? just throwing the silly idea out there. Is there defiantly no space over top? can be deceptive. lower engine?
Raizer
I would think your firewall would need to be beefed up a bit if your wanting to brace to it Do they go under tension or compression? Neither
bubblegoose
compression
d.p.n.s
thanks guys Joe would it still work the same if i changed in a wee bit? the yellow would be welded around the engine bay using maybe 25x5mm flat plate or bigger and the red made removable using 25mm tube or bigger dan
Testament
I would be wary about stiffening infront of the strut towers before talking to someone from MSNZ im sure ther is some rule about not stiffening impact zones - it might not matter for old cars but im not sure yet as i might do something like this on my car if it is legal

RT
Dan have you checked out my capri one? I'm pretty sure the same design would work for your escort. can't see it too well in this shot but you get the idea.
bubblegoose
shit, just remembered there is a bubble arch mk1 and a wide body Capri down at one of the body shops and im 99% sure one of the has some form of strut tower bracing on the outside. i will get some pics next time im down there
Gaz
How about dropping engine down? Will need to make new sump but get the bonus of lower center of gravity. That is how I have mounted my CA. Mine is also further bacak however. Gaz
