Yeah just holds the throttle for that barrel closed until air flow demands counter the weight and it opens up

Some abstract art later with a bolt and some spacers welded together and good to go. When closed it has a 2mm deflection on the other lever so I have copied that to the second carb.

I had this exact missing bracket when I got a set of twin carbs for my EA71. 

The one you've created looks a lot nicer than mine.

Do you have a pic of yours by any chance? I couldn't find any pics of it at all so I just raided the scrap bucket.

Next question:

The manifold/carbs have a shitload of ports. I have sent the vacuum advance to the middle here which you can see. But can anybody see a problem with the three circled ports I have capped?
