Beaver
hey all. im looking at getting the front springs compressed to level things out a bit when i but 2inch blocks in the back. cann anyone reccomend a place in chch that does it at a good price? also, is there a way to check how much i can compress the springs while still keeping them captive? or is it one of those oh shit thats too much kinda things? cheers Andrew
Raizer
I cant help you with where to get them done down there but to find out the max you can have them compressed you can measure between the spring seat on the strut and the plate that goes on top of the spring -make sure you measure right into the groove the spring sits in. I would say to add at least 10mm to that measurement to allow for a little bit of spring sag too.
Beaver
that makes complete sense haha i should have thought of that. cheers
CUL8R
If these are the same stud pattern as an Avenger, which I'd imagine they would be, 4x108 Put some Early Rostyles on it! Cortina/Escort/Capri shit

CUL8R
Needs some cortina wheels, would look soo much sweeter As for paint, maybe satin silver (but not a hugely bright shade), reckon that'd look good, and satin would hide some of your dents a bit better.. Brock-Lee
I think I saw this parked out front of uni today. needs more slam. i'd be spending the 2-300 on getting it real low rather than an exhaust. Meh my $0.
Beaver
I think I saw this parked out front of uni today. needs more slam. i'd be spending the 2-300 on getting it real low rather than an exhaust. Mehmy $0.02 haha yeh that would have been it. yeh id like it lower but its my daily obviously so it needs to be semi-practicle. plus i cant go any lower without certing it so theres 300 buks on the cert alone already. and it already rubs a bit at the mo so yeh. also its a cunt trying to find parts for it ie lowering springs, so the fronts are already compressed 65mm and cant go much lower. to make it worth wile going lower i think id need to spend a bit of money doing it properly. one day tho....one day. cheers tho stoked that u recognised it
Beaver
any thoughts on its final stance?. i really really really want some rims for it but nothing ive tried so far fits under the back guards, the offsett is always wrong. mayb next year when i have some coin ill get them rolled and try jam something up under them. the balloon tyres done really do it for me a haha. i want a look similar to gaz's (i think) cortina at the rear before it got bunged up. amazes me how many people stop to talk to me about it, i think 99% of them are over 50 lol its awesome...i remember when....blah blah blah....oh havnt seen one of those in years...blah blah....the ol' billy bunter a? (lol that one cracked me up) ....u can tow a 18ft caravan with those things...hmmm thats good to know lol
HUNTD
haha yes, every old man used to stop and talk to me. and then be actually suprised when i knew stuff about it, fully just expecting me to be like uhhh im a girl. Yea it sucks with how narrow it is in the rear aye. You pretty much gotta roll the guards a little bit.
Beaver
yeh i think its just the offset a, cause its a 185 tyre on the back (not huge obviously but yeh). tried some sweet hotwires the other day with whitewalls. once the car was dropped back down the guards were like sitting on the tyres, and that as only with the 2inch drop. ah well, just have to keep rocking the steelys. going to get them powdercoated white when/before/after i paint the car, so should look alright, and polish the hub caps up so they all blingin lol. found a weber sidedraught manifold the other day (ive got the cast head so yeh, like finding half a needle in a haystack lol) dude wants 300 buks for it and that $USD. i think i just have to accept its slow and always will be unless i put a new engine in haha
