slipsittin
Hey there people. I'm not so good at this but any feed back on my project would be good. I was going to go 302 or 289 but always wanted a twin cam 8 valve. The engine was going to be FE twin cam but as I decided to go the lazy mans self adjusting drive belt, timing chain, and water pump in a so easy to get to place. Cheers, Corey
Requiemk
looking good getting the hard work done first, what colour you thinking of going with?
slipsittin
Not sure what colour yet but my wife and I are looking through colour charts to try to find one. She is really keen to get things happening and our 11 year old is away this week so hopefully we can make some good progress. Your car is looking good to, I think soild colours on older cars look better for the era

slipsittin
Well enough of the above post and I am well over that now. What does everyone think of the new wheels??? I'm still deciding the profile of the tyre yet but they are 15"X6.5 so all good. Corey
slipsittin
Well after much arguing and trying to sort other parts for the car we have a colour that we love and my mate that is going to paint it thinks is a primo choice. Here it is on a bike I'm not sure if it will have any pin stripes yet but we will see The base coat is the orange and the clear coat has gold pearl and gold metal flake. slipsittin
What do you boes think?? Well as you can see I am a sucker for punishment lol. I think the new grill setup is way better than original. I really don't like the front indicator/park lamp assemblies. Corey
Raizer
That orange should go well on a mk2 bro
kyteler
The escort sport quarter bumper, relocated main lamps idea works for me man. Not a fan of that orange though.

slipsittin
That orange should go well on a mk2 bro Thanks man I am trying to get a guy I know to photoshop it for me... apparently theres like 5 shade of base coat on those bikes. The escort sport quarter bumper, relocated main lamps idea works for me man. Not a fan of that orange though Maybe its the bigger version of the mk2 escort lol. Im going to do similar with mine. Am not going to move lights but more just remove the indicators. I tried a few ways of removing the indicators and covering the hole but it looked silly IMHO with the other mods I have in mind so I'm glad others like it. Just for the old days and you can't see the surface rust I will try to get some more pics up of the other mods I'm doing by the end of the weekend Corey
slipsittin
Well due to not wanting to mod my engine bay away from how I have already done it..... The DOHC has to go due to the side draughts not fitting in with the brake booster. So if someone is keen here is the link to the add. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16327
Requiemk
no booster = win. just modded my car other night to run with out
slipsittin
no booster = win. just modded my car other night to run with out The thing is my inner guard was modded to run the booster years ago before certs were needed (its all done properly to the right standards though) when I used to race at Pukekohe. So I don't really want to have no booster and a shaped hole I hear you on not running one though Corey
davidian
i had the angled manifold on the escort that worked a treat, if you can score a s/hand one tho, 300 maybe steep
Gaz
Would a manifold to run twin sidies on that head be custom stz anyways? or just fill the whole in.. easy plate job really.
slipsittin
Would a manifold to run twin sidies on that head be custom stz anyways?or just fill the whole in.. easy plate job really. Manifold isn't the problem the size of the booster is, But Burton's do a manifold that works well. Filling the hole in requires removal of the guard, replacement R/H inner guard and firewall. As I said it's not simple at all, hence why the engine change. I would be keen to show you all that these engines have good potential but I don't want to alter that much to do it. It just doesn't get me syked. Corey
