eke_zetec_RWD
Hopefully Saturday if dyno is available. Seems to run pretty well with my old map loaded on. Just needed lots of advance at idle and loads of idle valve for it to idle nice.
eke_zetec_RWD
did a few ks on it tonight. just 12psi and took 5 deg of timing out under boost just to be safe. it really goes mint. all the compressor serge is gone. and pulls hard right the way to the limiter. the down side is all those years with the serge has i think fucked my turbo as its now louder than the motor when on boost

My name is Russell
Just to be safe took it to the limiter . . . Top job! vIDS vIDS vIDS!
eke_zetec_RWD
I had about a hour on dyno on Monday, was a bit of a fail really. Everything was mint except for a consistant miss at 6500 rpm so I pulled plugs out to check gap and 3 broke! Fuck only found peasant hot as fuck plugs so couldn't really keep tuning it. Problem was a corroded contact in the dizzy cap for main coil lead! Any way power it MILES up on old cam! On 11 psi power was 225 hp atw when miss happened and didn't look like falling over anytime soon. Torque is flat line all the way, will need to start tuning at like 2000 instead if 3000 as torque is already up there. I really think 240 kw atw is possible next tune if turbo can keep up. eke_zetec_RWD
dyno again. somethings wrong - cant get over 200kw at 20psi but like 180kw at 15psi so i would of expected more than 200 on 20psi but somethings holding it back. although i think the turbo is rooted - sounds mean as. goes hard as tho! prob should give up modifying it. KKtrips
Are the inlet and exhaust diameters big enough??
eke_zetec_RWD
i took exhaust off and did back to back dyno runs, no real difference. unless the first 1 meter of 2.5inch exhaust is too small. i didnt get a chance to try cam timing but its set perfect to the sheet. has a good filter and 3 inch piping. blah blah. must be turbo but the inlet temps arnt high
KKtrips
You got 215 with the same exhaust and inlet etc didn't you?

KKtrips
So in my world that doesn't understand too much in the way of turbos says that if they have flowed 215hp before then it should be able to flow that again right? What else have you changed other than cam? Turbo could be struggling cos it's a bit toasted?
eke_zetec_RWD
yea it sounds pretty mean tho so wheres the real turbo experts on here?

Truenotch
What's your shaft play like Jase? Worth trying another VF to rule it out? What's the torque curve like compared to the old plots?
eke_zetec_RWD
Yea your right. A cheap second hand vf36 about $600 if you can even find one. Quite rear turbos. Those new ebay ones are $1000 delivered. I know what you mean tho.
