jafa.and.proud
How easy/hard would it be to get this running in my 71 morris 1300? Is it even possible? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=77932651
lowlancer
Don't bother man..Surely there's a larger 1500 or 1800 that'll go in?
jafa.and.proud
Yea I really don't want to do a whole engine transplant though, too much of a hassle and the current engine is sweet The whole landcrab idea stuffs me for transplants a bit too
cute wee gem
There was a standard a-series turbo (mg metro turbo) so you may be better off finding one of those to put in. Of course its possible, you will need more than what you get in that auction though, oil feeds etc (I'm not to onto it with n/a --> turbo conversions, so there might be lots more)
cute wee gem
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/inde ... t&tid=4724 Have a look around this site, I'm not sure on the space of a morris 1300s engine bay, but I'd assume its got more, or around the same as a mini
jafa.and.proud
cheers i will have a read through that when i get a chance yea i heard the metro turbo engine was a good fit but i seem to be lacking in finding metro turbos around the place haha

thminiman
metro turbo engines are getting very hard to find... metro turbo's are getting find as most that came into NZ have already been stripped for parts for mini's... that turbo + a carb of some description = completely not worth it
jafa.and.proud
*stomps foot in anger* I WANT A TURBO!!!!!!!!!
CaMpylobacter
don't bother. crabs aren't nice as fast cars. hydrolastic suspension is nasty....
jafa.and.proud
Yes hydroelastic suspension is bouncy enough as it is I wouldn't take the car at any higher speeds than it already does (it can hold 100 fairly easily, never had it over 100), and speeding well why bother in a car like the morris, it would just be getting TO the speed limit a bit faster
Guest head_tech
Im pretty sure the MG metro came out factory turbo...same BMC engine so if you find a metro easy.....very easy........

J2Racing
Don't they have rubber crosses instead of CV. I think a turbo will pull them apart.

cubastreet
The twin carbs from a GT would add a little bit. great thing about hydrolastic is that it's sooooo easy to lower the car.
