yep bundy stokes is real good. what the cert costs depends on the extent of the mods. my corty for example was gonna be $700 from him but was a full cert engine/box/diff/brakes etc. sumthin like a gearbox swap might only be $150. i have a drive shaft loop for sale if any one wants one $100 plus frieght

$700..... FUCK THAT.

I paid $420 for engine, box, brakes, seats, adjustable suspension, mags, guards, blocks.

i didnt have to take a WOF sheet in, he just failed me on the stuff he wasnt happy with and I fixed it up and went back. some of the WOF-related items he failed me on was excess play in a wheel bearing, windscreen wipers not working properly, couple of bolts missing on break lines (original lines). the rest of it was mod-related.

he didnt charge me for the re-check, and actually met up with me on a sunday to put the plate on (i was out of town).

i just went and saw my trusty cert guy yesterday..

to cert:

manual conversion

coilovers

wheels

battery relocation etc

$275...

and if i add seats it goes to a level 2 cert which is $295

you guys are just getting ripped..he said prices have just gone up,but i wouldnt pay and extra $500 just in labour...

I thought that level two was structural mods to the chassis of the car?

your mods are basically bolt in with little or no fabrication required that is why its so cheap. ring him up and ask how much to cert a 350/auto/9in in a mk2 corty with vebnted disc adaption . master cyl and tunnel mods. the reason u have to cert batt relocation is 1- new cables have to be run he will check if it too close to exhaust/driveshaft brake lines etc if it rubs thru it could cause a fire

2- battery mounting put a loose batt in your boot and crash into sumthin see how far that 20kg brick will go.

may also depend on if your car is a open hatch or a sedan...my 7 has the battery in the boot where it could possibly fly forward and scone you in the head, and escort would be in a enclosed boot..

tunnel modding is a fairly serious mod, done wrong and your car could be warped...theyl probably measure for that ae...

none of my stuff was "bolt on" it was all fabricated parts...
