SYKOV6
may also depend on if your car is a open hatch or a sedan...my 7 has the battery in the boot where it could possibly fly forward and scone you in the head, and escort would be in a enclosed boot..tunnel modding is a fairly serious mod, done wrong and your car could be warped...theyl probably measure for that ae... none of my stuff was "bolt on" it was all fabricated parts... what had to be fabricated out of that list of mods you posted the coilovers were prolly the most extensive mod and even thats a pretty simple one as for gearbox and wheels what was hard about that? Rich ring up ya certifer and get him to have a look at ya car he will be able to identify any areas that need addressing. i think any tunnel mods have to be done in 2mm plate now for safety reasons eg exploding clutches
crazy_rich
yeah, my main concern is how I've done the tunnel.(pics in project thread i think) although if i grind back the welds/seal it, it will look completely standard. my radiator supports have also been cut out and remade, but with thicker steel, so it might be ok. I'll give him a call next week. Btw Callum, that must have taken alot of confidence to chop that much out of your car. good stuff.
SYKOV6
from my experiace with certing i reckon as long as you do a good tidy job thats finished properly. its the things like no spring washers on engine/trans mounts that they always pick up on. lets face it unless you or a close friend or relitive is an engineer your gonna pay someone to do the major bits. and unless hes totally useless most things should pass a cert. theres just a few rules and guidelines surrounding stuff like full driveline swaps etc eg v8 into capri.
