RT
If u really wanted I would sell you my engine. Totally complete, 230+bhp with the capacity for more.. you could crank it up to around 260-270bhp if you had the drivetrain for it. It would come with everything, turbo, piping, intercooler, tuned link computer, wiring loom, engine, efi setup, lightened flywheel, rad. electric fans the lot and I can give you a celica 5 speed with alloy bellhousing to suit. It would all bolt straight up and you could have it running in a weekend. $7000.

Gaz
mondeo doesnt = mazda 6. don't know why everyone thinks that. it's been said before and was quashed as myth Im pretty sure the outcome of the last topic was that it was same engine. But I have talked to a guy from Welly ford since last topic. The facelift mondeo duratech engine IS the same as the mazda 6 engine.

Josh
PM sent RT no idea if your serious or not but worth a try..
RT
it's just a case of ..meh. I've done it, and i could be keen for another project cos I actually get more enjoyment out of building shit rather than having shit if that makes any sense to anyone. $7 'gs might seem a lot but it's not concidering what it would cost for everything... custom work.. injectors, computer, chrome, even shit like the alternator is a special item. so yeah.. I'm not definate but could be tempted.

Gaz
I did a few tallies up today of turbo pinto vs N/a if you were to do a bit of stuff yourself and a bit by shops. Might post up if anyone is interested. I have definatly missed some things out but also slightly overpriced some things so should be about rightish. Gaz
Dude you might want to put the words "capri" "escort" "cortina" "anglia" and "ford" in your auction. Itd get you alot more interest/hits. Also maybe write who ported the head as anyone serious will want to know head details.
Defective
theres another option Josh, buy this escort, swap the running gear over between the two, and then sell the escort again. you would probably still get a bloody good price for the escort and bang, cheap turbo conversion for your capri. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=53942258

Gaz
It was on there ages ago as well. Dont know if it sold and is for resale now or what. I remember asking him questions last time and he couldnt give a proper run down of what the engine involved. I know if I was selling an engine I would put EXACTLY what I had done to it and what parts to rebuild on the main listing.
