two_days_late
i have a single piece drive shaft from a manual that i'll be happy to swap for a single piece from an auto if anyones keen... and about the tunnel thing, its well known that the autos have bigger tunnels so they fit 5 speeds easily, but i've driven one like this and the clutch pedel rubs on the carpet on the inside of the tunnel. just warning people who are thinking about this, coz it gets pretty annoying! cheers Matt
Guest escort_boy
the clutch when converted from a auto to a manual rubs?
two_days_late
yea if your using an auto body shell and put a manual gearbox in, as theres no clutch pedal with the auto, so when you put one in because the tunnels alot wider the pedal rubs on the carpet on the side of the tunnel. only a little bit but it was still annoying. Toucan
Thats when you beat the tunnel in the other direction
two_days_late
muhaha. probably easier to cut the whole tunnel out and make up a new one.

two_days_late
or just dont bother with a clutch, if you get the revs right its not to hard to get into gear without one... im sure a v8 supercar driver used to do that coz he had a bung leg or something? davidian
the only thing my clutch pedal was rubbing on was the ancient wiper/squirter button which was mounted underneath it originally. so binned that and got a swith wired up to the dash
