  5. well i do have a cam that can only be fitted with the bearing towers cut in half and bolted back on to get the lobes through, nah N/A would be way to undrivable. i have a cossie bottom end so should handle a turbo/supercharger better than sierra bottom end. but even then ill need to sus a dam good port job. maybe section a spare 2L head and learn how far it can be ported and where.

  7. must be a diff grind cause mines 285 in 280 ex intresting.
  8. fr32 from camtech $285 deliverd. its a brand new billet cam. 285 inlet 280 exhaust. they throw so far the valve springs almost bind. its strange tho cause my mates mk4 corty has been driving with 1.6 head for about 6months now. could also be the fact that his rings are shot... and no pinto heads almost neva crack. well i have never seen one to date. maybe i need to stop worring about getting alot of power out of N/A. cossie bottom end and supercharge it.
  9. nope. neva needed to before. the starter motor wasnt strugeling so couldnt of been that high.
  10. well we took it off and discoverd this... after 17 hours of fucking around port work and shiz. definatly wasnt there when we where working it. cause i was cleaning it up good and would of seen a crack that big. the 1million dolor question is what caused it? could it of been on its way? with the extra comp and port work ect would it of just helped an existing problem just get worse? o well so you learn. next time i will definatly get it crack tested before i do anything! Thanks very much for all the input! cheers guys. ps meth those fr32 cams idle awesome ay. very choice cam!
  11. thats the mani after 20mins at 2g. the water pump is only about 2 years old ay. we had it running just before and the water in the radiator is bubbling something rediculous.. oil is full of water to. such a simple problem yet it has hundreds of fixes...
  12. ke20 & cam: yea she has to 12" electric fans bolted to the radiator. and we hooked up oil gauge to it. never got hotter than over half and oil was minta mikunu u raise a good point. maybe what i should of mentiond is near the end of the breakin in sesion the manifold was glowing bright orange. we thought wed run the standard one while breakin it in. now the temp guage wasnt hot but could the head of goten to hot with the manifold get so fucking hot??
  13. nah shes all tuned up perfect. i done static timing on it and had the carby recond. would u have to use the head bolts from the 1600 motor?
  14. good point. we did have a flat edge on it and it seemed fine. could it of bent once we put it on? the manifold was glowing after 20mins at 2grand to break the cam in. could it of gotten so hot that it warped?
