yea the 1100 manuals came out with single piece, but the 1300 and 1600 came out with two piece shafts, according to mr haynes anyway. might check in the book and see what the auto ones came out with. could always get an auto two piece and take the UV joint off and swap it onto my manual one. have to get the driveshaft shortened then tho.

cheers

Matt

hey, if i was just gonna use a pinto 4speed gearbox on my 1600 xflow could i just change over the clutch plate because my flywheel has already had some weight loss so i want to keep it

Nah bro, the Corty clutch is a bigger daimeter, wont fit the Escort flywheel aye. Why put a Pinto 4speed in tho?

Pinto flywheel will not go on a Xflow. Sure the bolts line up, but you then can't get a starter that will work with it - at least not that I know of.

yeah i think the sierra starter turns out about 10mm short of engaging with the sierra flywheel, from memory, could be wrong tho.

just use ya xflow fly and re drill it, i think only 2 or 3 threaded holes need to be put in and a couple of extra dowells to hold the pressure plate. pretty basic with the right skills yo.

Get a backplate from a Pinto powered Cortina. This will need to be modified as the rear crank seal housing is much larger on the kent engine. So simply cut out around the center until it fits your engine. This is the easiest and therefore the best solution.

thats what kris's web site says
