Gaz
Ca and Sr have the same mounts so I could use a SR on it. I like the idea of Ca better in a little car tho. Plus the price of a new ca no box is around $900, price of SR no box is around $2000... not worth the extra 20odd kw.
peteretep
probably been talked about but how much work to get it in there and going?
Gaz
Um there is a tad of work. Since I got it beg last year ive been buying random stuff to do it, im nearly there. Hard to juggle 2 cars plus a student shit wage etc. I have brought/made since I got engine: 294mm front discs JZR 4pots Remote brake system incl pedal box 3 core radiator Intercooler x2 cause im greedy Braided fuel lines Hilux LSD Spare hilux housings Still need to buy or do: Fuel pump Make gbox xmember once engine+box is mounted Cut new hole for shifter Install engine Get exhaust made up Cooler piping (can wait till after running) Wire it in Cert Thats really bout it, its pretty close. Prob is that I cant aford to have no car on road. So cortina has to be put on road first, then escort off to be done. So should be running by end of next year for sure. Raizer
Depending on what box your using you may need to do a fair bit of "shaping" - read big hammer needed - to your tunnel, we're using a R31 box and it looks like there wont be too much stock tunnel left! Gaz
Using an r31 box with what engine? Holding my spare sierra 5 speed next to my ca18det box there aint much differance in it. The ca box is smaller in alot of places but then larger slightly in others. Hopefully its close. Otherwise my boss does nice tunnels. Raizer
CA18DET with a R31 CA18DE box, just waiting for the clutch to get here and will bolt it all in this week
Gaz
Why would you run that box over the det box? Just what you have? The gazelle box is nice. The shifter is 10mm further forward.
Raizer
Cause the DET came with an auto and we still had the R31 box we got when we were going to use a CA18ET
