BAAAAAACCCCK to the leaks topic, I took a 'mental health' day off skool and pulled the scort 2 bits again (gettin good now!) 2 investigate the soaking carpet issue. Tore the console, carpet, glove box, flexi heater pipes, instruments n all shit so I could get a good look in, then undid the heater hoses in the engine bay, unscrewed the heater unit and pulled it out, ripped up all the fucked out sound deadening n found the source - rust hole in the back of the heater plenum I believe, kinda ran outta time 2 make sure. Luckily, my parts car came from central otago and has been nun-dry its whole life, stole the sound deadening from it 2 go into greenscort 2morro!

Ill get sum pix so uz can c if its ur problem 2.

i had rust holes in my sills of my car, not in the door, so the water ran down and through the holkes and then on to the footwell, so i just that fixed and it still leaks cause it comes out of the bottom of my door sumhow and over the door rubber..... im not sure how ill solve this just yet

ahhhh leaks something dear to the heart of every oldschool car owner :D

I know this sounds obvious but alot of people miss it on escorts they are really prone to rust in the firewall region among other places even a small hole may cause major leaks

I once had a Mk1 Cortina that leaked so bad when it rained water would leak out of the dash board but a nice new rubber fixed that up quick smart

before I got angry and gave up

Lol know how that feels... I had my engine out and I was sitting in the engine bay for about an hour pulling at the heater hoses going into the firewall, they werent coming out, so I gave up and just covered them in silicone hoping they werent going to leak. Hope they dont :?

But guess what, I just won the auction I was bidding on so soon I can say I have 175/70/R13's, not the best but hell of alot better than my current balloon wheels.
