  1. Yea pretty sure you don't need a tray, only cover the wheels as you;re doing and rear lights. Have seen this done plenty of times so assume it's semi ok?

    Turbo sizing?

Go onto those rfb pages like Silvia's and skyline. Cheap twinscrolls etc are bound to pop up from failed powerpole incidents which benefits everyone I guess.
  3. Bugger, feels, I found the prices at ironman (?) recyclers on whakatiki Street upper hutt pretty reasonable. Way cheaper than new, but still probably a bit more than you want to spend lol. Booted up that raspberry Pi yet?
  4. Go to a paint supplier and pick up some 3M polish compound, autosol is good and all... but you can get several stages of polishing compound that will give you easier and probably better results.
  5. I suppose depends which L200 it is, I had a 96 L200 which required lowering springs and/or drop spindles, but earlier models had torsion setups
  6. I got a Pi that you can borrow if you need to, already has retropi etc all on it
  7. Very cool, brother used to have all this stuff, might even have some buttons left over. Should have a look see if there's anything. You could multi purpose and run a raspberrypi setup as well through the TV, get some PS3 controllers too and then you can play anything else that might tickle ya fancy
  8. My brand new trailer has black plates, just grabbed the plates from the old shitter and re-registered the new one (Y)
  9. Have done this, real good to put under subframes etc or between arms to separate joints (y)
  10. Signed up to nzhondas I see, but the best minds are already here mate
  11. Was owned by an OS member too
  12. Bought an NZ new N600. '73 has a bit more rust and some retard took the gas cap off so no doubt the gas tank is fucked. Came with newly chromed bumpers and grill etc so thats pretty cool (Y) Picked up some SSR Mesh (welded 3 pieced, but I'm 95% sure the centre is reversable.... but I cant seem to get the centre out...) (Thanks to Alex @ Moonlight Racing to organising buying from Yahoo) Aaaand finally, removed the hubs from the first one to get all the soft lines pads and cylinders reproduced/relined through ABC, sandblast all the parts, dip the parts in zinc phosphate, powdercoat them, then will get them back on the car. The hard lines on this car is setup so shit, there's a single line that goes out to the drivers wheel, which then leads back to the passenger wheel, which then leads back to the passenger rear wheel, then leads to drivers rear wheel... Have a friend with reel of brake line and benders/flare tools so maybe 1 day I'll make proper split lines, but then again, I could leave it for the 600...
  13. More to the point, how easy is it to trick the WOF man of said master cyl upgrade on a car he's probably never seen before, that it was always meant ot be like that
  14. So would you reregister first then go for cert or the other way around, even though the car doesnt have a registered number plate...
  15. Reregistering a car, and have replaced the brake master cylinder with something more modern and larger (old one shagged and done its dash). Does it require a cert or is that maintenence? (Will be getting appropriate one based on advice from brake shop)
  16. How do you convince wives of this whole spending money on cars thing? I need dis. I want to import the least most practical cars ever, one day.
  17. Doing powdercoating with a friend, yes already blasted, just sceptical that chucking it in acid to eat rust in pits etc is going to give it long term protection under the powdercoat. He's never really powdercoated something that rusts so quick (Usually does brakes and alloy brakets etc), old car steel life
  18. Catelogues are one thing, sourcing it seems to be another...
  19. Related question, know where I can buy Zinc Phosphate? (Aerosol or paint on) Eastwood and CRC have a product but low and behold, nobody had it. Resene has some mental product which has it in but also has a ruberised component to it or something which sounds weird. Need it supposidly to help cure/seal the rust before powdercoating and its what is recommended to use rather than high zinc primer.
  20. So this is why Steve is delayed in building things in his workshop After digging cubes and cubes of dirt at home by hand, I can honestly say that you guys have done a mammoth task, its no where near easy work.
