  1. Have you considered swapping to a Sierra manual? It will fit your auto tunnel with no mods. It will probably cost close to as much as a rebuilt auto to finish though and need a cert.
  2. You can drill the holes slightly further down the the mount for a bit more lift too.
  3. Your master cylinder is stuffed. Buy a new master cylinder, bench blead it, fit it to the car and blead the system through.
  4. It should work ok with leaves in the rear, there is penty of rally cars with leaf springs. Sounds like fun to me. Be prepared to wreck your 808 though.
  5. This wagon makes me happy. My first project was a 2.0 mk1 wagon too. 105e Anglia has a narrower diff housing that will take Escort diff heads. Anglia rear brakes are nasty though and Escort ones don't fit straight on, I think the Escort drum has to be spaced off the axle flange and the spring perches redone.
  6. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=89604 Not the best photos but it shows the clutch fork on the LH side when fitted to a Falcon. The cable route is explained in "step 4"
  7. Yeah I'm sure does. I think EB-EL Falcons were like that. It will work fine if it has no real sharp kinks in in. Edit. Just Googled this. 6cylinder cars have a long cable with the fork on the L.H side. it went from the firewall around the deepest part of the sump and back to the gear box.
  8. Just get a long cable made up. Thats how V8 Falcons are. It will be way easier and cheaper.
  9. 3 SUs or Stromberg would be ace, like a XU1 Torrana. Matched sets work best because there are a lot of subtle differences inside the cabs, also the throttle shafts are fairly specific length wise which makes linking and balancing them difficult. I couldn't say about sets of SUs though. Depending on what you want to achieve a 390/465 Holley might work too?
  10. They look good, I'm not sure that they are a true matched pair though. Expect to spend some money tuning them too. What about 3 SUs? that could work.
  11. 3x DCOE/DHLA will work awesome once it's sorted. Like this.
  12. Hi Callum. This is sweet man. Have you tried giving your paint a good going over with some cutting compound? It can make a big difference for minimum spend. Where was all the oil coming from last weekend? I thought you might run a bearing on the run back. The bike is cool it makes me think of Mad Max 2.
  13. I had one of these a few years ago. I brought and wrecked a RWD Sigma turbo and put all the bits in the ute. It wasn't to hard, the hardest bit was converting the ute to a hydraulic clutch.
  14. Yeah I'm not sure about the retempering to be honest. I've had sets done in the past and got them back with the leaf spring bushes untouched. They some times alter the length of the top leaf to keep the spring shackle angle good though. Fuck knows, I'm no spring expert / this isn't a leaf spring chat topic.
  15. He wasn't to far off how they reset them. Bellamy and East have a huge mechanical hammer that they run the leaves through to shape them. Snells in Auckland used to shape them manualy, ie hit them with a hammer.
  16. Sounds like... Your alternator is not charging. There is just enough in your battery to hold the stop solenoid open with the jumper leads disconnected. when you remove the battery there is no volts, the stop solenoid closes and kills your engine. Check your charge rate and battery terminals.
  17. I used AE80 shocks in mine it makes the whole strut about 80 mm shorter per side. It's not a straight swap either. Be carefull your ball joints and tierods don't start to bind though.
  18. Tell me what you want done to them. Work has an account there I can price it for cash and you can drop them off if you want/the price is ok.
  19. Bahahaha. I need a LSD and a better diff ratio. Thanks for posting it.
  20. Awesome day. Thanks everyone. That inland road is mint, I will try to take one os my smaller cars next time we go that way. @Fliboi I would like to see those vids thanks.
  21. Low on skills you say? I would look at this. Kent Engine, Sierra or Toyota box, 3,45 Sport diff, do some work on your suspension. You can buy LSD's to fit your Escort diff from Quafe and Palmside. I would look into doing that, it gets expensive quickly if you can't do the work your self.
  22. I have a spare seat if anyone wants a ride.
  23. Yes no problems Felix. Z181200 do you still want a lift? You too CUL8R?
