  1. Hey Matt. Car is looking good, I'll call round for a look at some stage.
  2. Blocked radiator is another possible cause.
  3. Here's a couple of random photos from Saturday. Some fairly hefty tractors on the boat ramp at Kaikoura The Kaikoura coastguard's boat Twin 330hp Yanmar diesels and jet units. Some old cars too
  4. Sweet. Chris was talking about this the other day. Glad you got it.
  5. The owner swerved to avoid a deer, the truck switched ends a few times and hit a bank. So the story goes. I'll add a few photos later.
  6. It stinks when it gets hot. Try 20/50 engine oil
  7. Yeah I'm up for this. I'm going to bring a couple of my kids along too. Just to throw stones at things and such like. It will probably be a day/evening trip for us.
  8. Lathe is sweet. Re the belt drive. John Brooks in town have many toothed belts and pulleys for industry. It might be worth a look.
  9. Woah. That gearbox is sweet! Where did you find that?
  10. I've always used steel bundy. Heres the some photos of what I was talking about. Pipe bender: This style does larger tube without collapsing it around the bend. Put the pioe in the flairing tool as normal. Set it up like you are going to do a double flair and give it a few turns down. Once it's done it should look a bit like this (I under did this a little)
  11. Yeah pretty much. I'll try take a photo for you.
  12. Steel fuel lines can be a prick. Make it out of 3/8th and you shouldn't have problems. I have made fuel lines out of 6mm rod and then used that as a template to bend the steel tube. You can cut the 6mm and weld it together to get the shape you want. A little pipe bender is the best to bend it with, they usually cost around $50. To crox the end hust give it a little nudge with a flairing tool, like you were going to do a double flair but stop as soon as the tube starts to compress.
  13. It's more of a prick getting the shifter out than getting under the car.
  14. I could be keen for this. I'll have to check back in 7 months to see what I have that runs.
  15. A rebore + oversive pistons will help bump up the compression too.
