  1. figured out why the brand new fuel sender wasn't working. helps to plug it in. figured out where all the gas keeps going. leaky tank. so many swear words. emptied, cleaned and PORed it a few months back. never leaked before suggestions on someone who can fix it in west/central auckland?
  2. please add scallops or a flaked roof in a cola colour like the interior. I'd appreciate that.
  3. looks shit. give you 3k for it. doing you a favour. not jealous at all.
  4. ^ i like this idea best ^ Mainly so I can copy what you learn.
  5. If you're in AK at the moment and plan to be for a while, but if you could get the gear box up here sure a few of us could be rounded up to help get it in. Dunno if that hightop would get in my shed, but most of the tools are there and a hardstand. Happy to host. Then at least you're more mobile in the interim, right.
  6. I'd say so. 65 is the 2dr Hardtop body style now that i think about it. Not sure about the 05. I know it was built in December. Somewhere I found some scraps under the seat from the OG build order. Could cross reference.
  7. Yesterday: Today: Finest quality rattlecan rebuild. Turns out this was a leaky bung replacing a frost plug, small seep that only really showed up with the paint. So thats out now, and a fair bit of old shit that'd been inside the block. Next up his scrubbing up the bay... I didn't get a before, but believe it or not this is an improvement. Really wanna find a dual plane edelbrock manifold cheap while i got it out. No fucker seems to have one to sell.
  8. Brakes seem to work. http://whenmikeandlouise.tumblr.com/post/166890478157 Went up and down the road a couple of times. Alternator light was off and on towards the end. Meh.
  9. Is this redundant because you made up those replacement shafts and cancelled that weird suspension thing? Does the same job? Now I've got the engine out I'm tossing up doing the bushes and if I do that, maybe losing that setup.
  10. I might.. MIGHT... have brake shoes. I think there was a box in the boot when I imported mine, assume they're same between years. Failing that try the northwestern guy.
  11. Also, there's a whole shoegaze band called Galaxie 500, great for when you're on the nod.
  12. Niiice. PM me with your email and I'll flick you a pdf of service manuals if you want. And can probably point you towards a few places for shite you might need.
  13. Spose I should add a bit about her skills, eh?www.facebook.com/FckenAce/
  14. If you've ever wanted to have a decent hoon at pinstriping but wanted some pro-tips to get better results sooner, well... I'm working with a friend, Stace the Ace, to put on a bit of a Pin-striping school in my shed. There's going to be a Tuesday Night Class starting on the 7th November and running for 4 weeks, or a 2 day intensive course on the 11th and 12th of November. The basic idea is you get taught the basics of line work, how to use and hold the brushes, how different brushes create different lines, all sorts of other black-arts stuff, and at the end, apply it all on a small project of your own to take away and show your mates. It should be pretty good, she's got a clear timetable and knack for explaining stuff to make sure you get to feeling confident about what you're doing. It's $180, and you'll need some brushes and whatnot but we can help with those at a cheap rate. November 7th for 4 weeks, 6.30 - 9.30pm November 11th/12th from 9am - 4pm Website: http://www.tinker.co.nz/newclasses Facebook: http://bit.ly/2ynBDmE And please feel free to share those links... Chur.
  15. All the shit out of the way, ready for the RB conversion Wasn't the easiest, but wasn't the worst. Tidy up time. Getting it back in will be interesting.
  16. Option 1: Replace end - http://www.northwesternford.co.nz/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=starter&search_in_description=1&x=0&y=0 Option 2: Replace whole unit - https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/ford/electrics/auction-1412687333.htm I know it's a 50 something year old part, but aside from the cog shitting itself, it worked fine. But, it is a 50 year old part... Discuss. https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39341-1963-ford-galaxie-hardtop-of-glory-the-bronze/
  17. these are a cool shape, and those wheels look surprisingly good on it.
  18. Dug out some bog from the guy who did a rust repair on this for me a few years back. What a shit job. Good news is only a small rust patch needing doing here. And then this bit on the side of the rear screen. Then this thing will be cured of this bit of tinworm. Until some more emerges.
  19. Was getting ready to pull the engine, for what a mate advised sounded like fucked ring gear. Decided to pull the starter and have a looksie. Turns out it's a lightweight starter.
  20. It's getting there. I'd kill for a brown s-pac, that's my dream ride, but still quite fond of this old piece of shit. Here's a vid of what happens when i turn the key now... No ignition lights, nothing going to the starter, but the speedo starts going up like some form of volt meter. loltastical. All thoughts on diagnosing and fault hunting appreciated. I suck at electrics. http://thisisthehost.tumblr.com/post/165054845066
  21. Sweet. I'll have another look , I had a cursory lòok rather than an in depth one and walked away pissed at myself for a dumb mistake.
  22. Got the rear windscreen out with the help of some kids. The rust that was hiding at the edge wasn't as bad as I was worried, so that was good. Put the battery on charge a while back. Yesterday I cranked it over and forgot I had the charger connected. not good. Now when I turn the key the speedo starts swinging and when I turn the key everything just dies. Anyone got a bit of a rough diagnosis on what I likely fucked?
