right so a bit of an update, fixed up some oil leaks and gave the oil pump a bit of a once over, over the weekend, also finally got round to putting the new springs in the front (cheers JB) have kept the ass up at the same height for now anyway. anyway pics: Gave the bumpers the tin foil and lemon juice treatment, works way better than I expected. Back before: After: forgot to take a before of the front but there's probably one up further.

looks like a hard (non porous) plastic to me, if so vinyl die won't soak in, however I may be wrong.

you will get distortion in the panel due to the heat used as you do with any welding. some factory welds on older cars are brazed however
