Google said this: http://lowvolumevehicle.co.nz/2012/02/w ... cers-faqs/ Short answer = 35mm is too big. Needing to use such a large adaptor sounds like you're trying to use totally wrong offset wheels? That just seems to be quite far out from fitting that's all.

If it has been looked after - sweet If it hasn't, who knows how reliable it will be. ftfy

I would have thought even with quick connect fittings you could piss the air out an open end faster than a compressor could keep up. I will look into that though as it interests me. Would only affect the tools with highest air use as well I would have thought. edit: even with pretty good google-foo skills I couldn't find a simple answer so I give up TBH though, I wouldn't worry unless you actually find it an issue. I ran my sand blaster off 10 or 20m of hoses with quick connectors, then into water trap / pressure reg, then onto one of those cheap shitty coiled hoses which connects to the gun. It still worked fine, perhaps there would be room for more performance there, but I was getting the pressure the gun was rated for so i'm not sure how much it's actually affected. Happy to be educated though if someone has some facts.

Why not just buy the fittings to go on the ends? Not too badly priced. Or if you're running it as the line between compressor and air trap just connect it all up without fittings. Maybe I missed something though..

Mine under drives the pump by heaps, so i'm not sure any would over drive them as that would take a lot of juice! Not on single phase at least. I'm assuming the 300L/min is FAD? I like how they use the 'marketing' figure first, then show the FAD figure. 445/~280/min on my compressor. Same pump but with a petrol motor manages 326L. 16CFM single phase, 18CFM petrol. Fuck listening to the petrol one all day though

Depends on price bracket I guess. At the low price end it's probably all the same gear / quality with different labels. Hinden/Marquip are good in the higher end bracket.

I think I paid ~$1500 for mine, then my plans to use it for painting went down tubes due to health reasons. So now I just have a super spendy / overkill air broom for 90% of it's usage Way too much to spend for occasional use, but I wanted a decent one and it's more of a industrial unit really. Have seen people hook two cheap compressors up together which gave good air flow. When I was looking, the price brackets were pretty spread out. Cheap - ok - extreme. This was my second choice, still probably too spendy for ya though http://www.georgehenry.co.nz/product_pcid_1949.html I think it was around the 8-9cfm FAD mark. Should do the trick for what you want though. As Brad says though, for a good unit sub $800, 2nd hand will be the go. For an OK unit, i'm sure sub 500 will be doable. I never really looked into the lower spec ones to know.
-
Probably half that, though not sure how comfortably. I think mine is about 12cfm FAD and i've been told it will handle spraying easily. I can run sandblaster off it without having to stop, and that probably requires as much if not more air. People seem to have painted with much less air available, so it must be possible.

Pretty sure you're supposed to have the water trap after some hose so the air has a chance to cool down before the trap. I've only used mine with my sandblast cabinet, and I connected it just before the cabinet. If you are wanting to get best results perhaps a 10m line leading down to water trap then run tools off another hose. I doubt a water trap really does anything if attached to the compressor itself. Just going by what i've read. As for what other tools, air gun, impact gun, die grinder, ratchet, cutoff saw, drill, punch/flange tool, tyre inflater and spray gun which I haven't used yet. I've only used the water trap with the sand blaster so far as most other usage is only short bursts. I just make sure I drain the tank of any water every so often.

Three is a bit of an odd number.... on the look out for a fourth? Good progress, loving those Hart Racing wheels

Yeah pretty sure that will be the prep area. Just check the stock list on the site every day. Not sure exactly how reliable it is, but it's better than nothing. You were there after me governorsam as I tried to remove that plate surround. It was held on by two rivets but I gave up when I realised i'd damage it trying to get it off the last rivet. Found a stainless one inside the beetle instead.

Might be best to throw the question in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1167 It's checked on by someone that issues certs so you'll get the right answer pretty quick.

Panel and paint supply shop? If they don't stock them they should be able to get them. If they are a worthy shop anyway.

Gimmie a PM in that case Pick up would be Hornby area -
This is how you check. But TBH I wouldn't touch a thing. Last thing you want is to be accused of fiddling with things and causing damage. Not that you will by doing the above. But i'd just walk away and let them take it away and deal with it.

Yeah definitely check everything is spinning. Currently have a 3s being rebuilt that had a cam seize and strip the teeth at the crank end of the belt.

Wow it has shrunk a bit! Used to be a lot more on the list. I may have to go ummm do another research trip...

I use them too. http://www.southerngas.co.nz/index.php I can't recall if I tried the other place mentioned tbh. Southern don't fill CO2 everyday, but I think mine was done the next day.

Jobs a job, I used to face shelves for my first job. Always wanted to do the trolleys though

How many KM for that 1-2L? Thats bloody shocking! Also what oil are you using? I don't keep a track of oil usage, but i'd probably use a 4L between services which are done somewhere between 5-10k. It's used oil since it arrived in NZ, and was abused in Japan. CBF rebuilding though so instead I just thrash it. Nine years later.... still taking the abuse

Pretty sure that 2011 run would have been in.... shock horror, 2011, not 2012 which is the year we now live in. Dates will differ each year
