  1. Don't need big, just multiple.
  2. There should be some award for registering a new company to get a WOF.
  3. If they won't accept Toyota brochures, i'd go with asking for money back. I imagine they can ask for what they are. But if you can't get a dyno done (my initial idea was just photoshop one, but they'll keep a copy no doubt), demanding money back due to them ignoring manufacturer supplied information is BS.
  4. Still cheaper to go elsewhere for a WOF, if you're confident that EFI doesn't need a cert. Just have all the paperwork handy if they question it. Should know better than to support VTNZ lol.
  5. Rivnut perhaps? Might just need to sealant it up due to location.
  6. Just P clip everything (at smaller distances than required) before cert? Cable ties don't sound all that suitable really, even if Toyota used plastic clips originally. Should be easy enough to bolt on p clips to original mounting brackets. Do it once, do it right. my2c
  7. What product are you using to treat the rust on some of those patches? Might be my monitor, but the areas still look to be quite rusty, including the "new" metal you're replacing rust with? This is the main one, just looks like you're welding to rust along the top edge? I'd be chopping it back till there was no deep pitting with rust, just my2c though.
  8. Someone on that side of town needs to just get er done.
  9. I get the feeling your boss knew what would happen all along Along the same lines of filling a room with 100% LPG, and trying to light a match, not going to happen. Get the mix in the room right though, and the room is no longer.
  10. All good. Just figured the oil would act as a coolant for the welding, a couple of few second tacks isn't going to boil a sump of oil. But yeah, I haven't done it myself, ignore that idea.
  11. Would end up pretty small. Needs a nut welding on the top at one million degrees IMO. Heating and shrinking might help it along. I had pipe wrench on it, gripped it fine, but the force I was putting on it without it budging was a bit concerning. Laying under car, feet against wheel while trying to crack it open, no luck.
  12. I've never tried it on a sump bolt, and not my car, might have to see what @Threeonthetree thinks.
  13. Sump bolt condition isn't the worst i've seen, but it's nugga nugga tight. I was concerned with shearing it off, some heat might help break it loose. 6 point would require bashing on for sure though.
  14. If you need to tow a trailer, put bike in trailer, problem solved. That storage looks sweet!
  15. https://basisnz.co.nz/products/sku297-920 Close? they might have other options, I only did a quick look. I know it's not CHCH, but not too far / postage should be fark all.
  16. Bolt some chain on it? Unless it was the tool that broke and not the crown screen. I'm sure guitar will work anyway.
  17. I just used a brake cable off a push bike, took a bit of sawing, never broke a screen. Was ~80ish corona, so likely same deal. Hot would be pretty sweet idea, but that urethane or whatever it is, is hardy no matter what. Did it by myself, but a mechanically mind helper would make things easier.
  18. No luck here, gave it a shot, but that shit is well stuck. I needed a battery welder so I could bang another nut on the sump, that would sort it I think.
  19. Best i've got is a warehouse spec set of bolt extractors, will that do the trick? Got a pipe wrench too. I can probably try take a "detour" today and attack the sump bolt at least. PM the addy?
  20. Couple weeks, minus vegas trip, so about 1/10th the time i'd like to be there haha. Will look that area up in the morning cheers.
  21. Sweet, good to know! Yeah having looked at the map, it's looks stupidly big. Plan to hit Vegas, but no further than that. Accommodation wise, no idea yet. Any suggestions on good areas that won't cost silly money? Hoping to work out some options this weekend for accommodation, to avoid it getting too spendy. Inadvertently picked a busy time to go, July. Somewhere quieter to stay would be good, as will grab car for the whole time now, so happy to commute wherever. Not sure if Motel / Hotel / Holiday Inn spec stuff is the way to go or what. Preference given to areas i'm not likely to get shot.
  22. For those that have done the LA thing, what is the best method for transport? I was thinking of renting a car for the whole time as it's not THAT spendy. But i've read the traffic can be a bit shit. So I guess there is metro buses / trains, but perhaps dealing with traffic is worth the freedom to go wherever whenever. Experiences?
