  1. Nice man. I cut the center out of my gemini wheel and turned that into a bosskit thing.. worked well.
  2. Hello. Cute dog! Can you redrill the bosskit you have so that it fits your nice wheel?
  3. There are a few reasons why you guys may be having drill issues these days. Eg, today you can buy extremely powerful battery powered tools that can spin a drillbit way too quickly. You can also have the ability to buy cheap Chinese junk that probably didn't exist in the olden days. You get what you pay for! Same with taps...a $100 set that covers every size is going to be crap compared to a single $25 tap of reputable make. If all else fails then maybe you just suck at sharpening drill bits.
  4. I want your welding table!
  5. Had bias valve mount laser cut. Clamped it in vice and folded legs with a hammer. Drilled out holes and tapped. It fits.
  6. Crazy. Definitely double check there isn't a bolt left in there (i have done dumber things!) and try making a better slide hammer (and a plate to attach the shaft to so that it pulls on a few studs at once.
  7. Lunchtime today I get a call to say I need to go to work and a few minutes later I get a message to say my glass guards will be dropped off in a few hours what was my address. I completely forgot about things due to workload and 12 hours later arrive home to a pair of guards lovingly wrapped in thick sheets. This is why I love OS....There are some seriously good bastards here who insist on doing something for nothing.. it's seriously awesome and I thank you all Also... IV been zapping new steel bits into my chassis! Then bought some chromoly and weld spuds plus a bias valve
  8. Go to SCA and have a look at the cheapies on the shelf
  9. I went to vtnz with my Safari and they moved the VIN tag from the body to the chassis..I don't even think it cost any money.
  10. Just put it anywhere. It's going to not suit some jobs regardless
  11. I use this stuff, it's pretty tenacious! http://www.rvshop.co.nz/catalog/rv-accessories/hardware/general-hardware/bostik-simson-isr-70-03-elastic-adhesive
  12. Hope you are all good. Now update the thread
  13. Don't worry about it mate. Still cleaner than @yoeddynzs tank
  14. Dude that quad looks farking great! I vote roll (lol) as-is. People would pay damn good money for that bike when it's fixed (could just sell it and buy something else more fitting to a project?)
  15. I haven't read the braking section so can't comment except to say that you will need to ensure that the pushrod can actually be removed from your master cylinder/booster/whatever. I cannot exactly remember but I'm sure on mine it's all crimped in there and the only way to remove it is complete destruction
  16. Thanks mate. Turns out the hobby car manual is actually pretty good (lol)...I wish I'd bought it earlier (being able to spend 10$ per relevant chapter makes it much easier!!!) I was even more impressed to see things like suggested tube and heim joint sizes... Really really important for someone like myself who genuinely has no clue and tends to oversize everything.
  17. EDIT. NM just bought the book. Stepping out of my comfort zone a little. From my time with 4wds I'm fairly sure you can make new rear trailing arms/panhard bars etc without much trouble (well..Compared to trying to weld a master cylinder pushrod lol) What if you are making the trailing arms from chromolly? What if you are changing from leaf to 3 link ;one link each side (from diff to forward leaf mount) + central tq arm. Will I need to provide crack test certificates (there will be threaded spuds welded into ends of control arms and lots of welding on tq arm) Will I need to provide material certs? A weld procedure? Sit a welding test? Etc etc etc Thanks
  18. Hahaha. Yup that's a fail. You will have to grab a new master cylinder and start again.
  19. It was me that was chatting about it with Clint . Your only option really is to cut off the original end of the pushrod and then run a die over the pushrod so that it can screw into your new fitting..I did this on mine. PS, have a look at all the information online (freely available on the lvvta website)
  20. How do they even cut copper on their machines? I always thought they used something like a scalpel blade
  21. not much to worry about then haha. Keep it up, enjoying the build!
  22. I don't have a huge amount of experience with rivnuts but I get some anxiety about their strength and suitability in situations like this- keen to hear other people's thoughts. Nice design though, they fit really nicely up there out of the way!
  23. I had one degassed and I think it was free (or atleast extremely cheap). You don't need recommendations..Just pop into any Aircon place and ask
  24. I'm so confused about why you'd want to sit on the very front of it.... it'd be good for making it do wheelies in reverse but that's probably not the goal haha. You should take the springs out so it looks cool/ you can claim it's to make it easier to get on and off
