Looking super sweet man. If you want a spacesaver in 5x120 then grab a BMW one. It's not quite 5x120.65 but for the small amount of time you will use it,it will be adequate. I have a 16" spacesaver out of a beamer in the boot of my Commy because the spare wheel well is half full with amplifiers.

Car out of lockup - fueled up and ready for drive. Gunna be good as long as the weather plays ball. -
Considered mounting a steering rack on a custom crossmember and slinging it in? Could probably even buy one ready made? In fact a google search came up with this. Looks like a piece of cake for someone of your skills Clint.

What are you going to do with car after its been in the movie? Sell me the interior?
-
I saw that car for sale and wanted to buy it but forgot. Ha-ha. Sorry I never saw your message but for in future it may help to know that the Police Museum in Dannevirke has a fleet of police cars you could probably use. Www.police museum.co.nz

I should probably concentrate harder on acquiring sweet engine parts than I have been. LOL -

Just assessing options at the moment. Going to pull the heads anyway and take a look at the bores, then take a geeze at the bearings and see if I should rebuild or just haul ass. I know how lazy I am and I should really do it right the first time and rebuild the motor but $$$ may not allow that. Will wait till I get the pants off and look at it. -
Fucking sweet. Is the plans to resto or restomod or just get it going and leave it looking haggard? (it has a fucking sweet patina by the way)

K-Trips 1982 Holden Commodore VH Build Thread
KKtrips replied to KKtrips's topic in Projects and Build Ups
Tonight was a unexpectedly productive night now I look back on it. Was meant to just be meeting Joe and Seedy to unload my motor and chuck it on Beavers engine stand but a traffic accident on the motorway held them up. So I trudged on and cleared up a couple items I've been meaning to do for a few weeks but just haven't had time - even though I've had the bits on hand the whole time. First of all I fitted up a new spacer/adapter and throttle bracket to fix the twitchyness that I was experiencing - all to do with the angle of the throttle cable in relation to the pivot. (sorry for potato photos) I mounted the spring mount at the wrong end and upside down because it fouled the air filter in the correct place. Probably puts a bit too much strain on the spindle so may rethink this. (but probably will leave it cos I'm lazy) Then Joe and Seedy turned up and we unloaded my new motor. I wasn't going to do anything more than just jam it on the engine stand but Joe tricked me into taking off the wiring loom. ... and the inlet manifold so I could check if it had a roller cam - which it does. woooo. leaving me with this by the time I was done. I also scored myself a scooter tonight too.- 67 replies

I can give you ride Geophrie. -
The metal on the face of the drum is typically fairly thin and more susceptible to heat and can warp (which is the part you will need to heat as that is the part that is sticking) whereas the outer circumference where the brake shoes run is thicker and the heat dissipates more easily.
-
If the brakes are backed off then the drum should come off without too much hassle. (I presume the drum rotates freely?) But if the locating hub is damaged then heat ain't going to do shit except make it worse by fucking up the drum, If the hub is damaged then push/whack the drum back on, then carefully file/grind off any burrs or ridges on the hub. Once the hub is clear of burrs then spray a dose of CRC around the locating hub and drum face. Also clamp off the brake hose on the side you have the drum off (or put the drum back on) and whack the brake pedal a few times to centralize the drum. Then give it a solid whack with a decent club hammer (a sledge may damage shit so be a bit careful with that) I would hit it about as hard as energetically hitting a nail in home - perhaps a little more but not running up and swinging spec.

Good shit Amy-san-hoe. Time for some foooly seeek 90's graphics?
