Was at a compliance center today and they had a pair of seats they had taken out of a Prius of all things... anyway I asked if they were for sale and now I own them. Head rests are a bit big, but they are very tidy with no rips and the foams in the base are good. I put one in the car and it looks like they are going to be very easy to fit, if I swap a couple of brackets side to side, the inside will bolt in with some doubler plates, and the outer will bolt on to the bench seat mounts. They even have a pump up lumbar thing so I can take old man @sheepers for a ride and his vertebrae will be suitably supported

With raglan nats already organized I thought that would be a good target to aim to get this done by. Parked motorbikes at the back of the garage to avoid distractions for now Ordered a few bits for it this week, fingers crossed rockauto solves my brake caliper issue. and fitted a wastegate this weekend. I think the next step is put the engine in the hole and start making exhaust and intercooler piping

Got it back last Saturday and spent all weekend and a few nights this week cleaning parts and reassembling. I got a mystery pack of plastic trim clips off Ali which was very handy for replacing all the broken ones Paint is.... meh. It cost $1600 all up, that was to tidy up a couple of dents, do the outside, inside the rear door and touch up one of the front door shuts. There's a few runs and badly masked bits and all of the dust inside when I picked it up Realistically it's better than I could have been bothered to do though and it looks ok all back together I painted the bumpers with black plasti dip type paint which makes them look heaps better, I'll be interested to see how it lasts

I had a look at one last week that had china bags and valves and that was really throw it all in the bin and start again Most of the air suspension setups I have certed have had better quality parts, and self leveling systems The way the rules are written, it's very difficult to get a system to comply without a self level system

With your discs, did you re use the wheel studs? They are a bit weird eh

And grab a xf diff cover and chop the watts linkage pin off, that is a poor man's pick a part combo to try and make a valiant diff more resistant to making bang tinkle crunch noises haha

Good chance it is 25 spline. I used to look for xd-xf ute or panel van diffs to get 25 spline lsd centers to put into valiants, utes often had 3.23 ratios, sedans if they were lsd were usually 2.77 which had a different offset ring gear mount surface which didn't work for any other ratio

XD sedans were leaf springs, XE XF sedan was 4 link, all utes and wagons were leafs though

Vespa. Have fitted some tyres that will be mildly better in dirt& gravel, already got a cargo rack and bag sorted, and have got a fuel can that fits in the space between my feet.

It has some shitty surface rust along the front edge of the roof and a lot of rusty stone chips on the roof, that was the main reason for painting it to stop all that getting bad The rest is not too bad but every panel has some small issue so want to tidy it all up

Gah I hate painting cars Got the inside done, remembered how much I despise sanding and bogging and sanding and paint fumes and the paint not drying cause it's too cold and getting paint boogers So I'm going to send it to someone else to get the outside done white again .

My employer has a hot rod that is bare steel, has been for a few years now. It lives inside most of the time, he has to rub it down with scotch brite and puts stuff called keyphos on it, he probably does that a couple of times a year. It sometimes gets surface rust when you touch it from sweat, or if it gets driven in the rain All the bits that you can't get to are painted so the seams don't rust

Matthew Black. Because its cheap, requires less prep and I can do it myself. I had ideas of painting it some sort of military green or tan but that would require a different set of wheels to go with it . Matt black I think the wheels still work, could get them vapour blasted to a matt finish as well
