  1. Stolen from where you park it at work? That's gay as aids
  2. When you are in the topic the search bar on top right will search only within that topic to save you manually searching every page. With advanced search you should be able to search by posts rather than topics which would also find it though I havnt tried that on this forum
  3. ^one of their mechanics got DIC'd whilst road testing a customers car. Thats how you know they are good.
  4. I had Type RA, they had done 5000kms. They were nice on the track but the dampning didnt match the spring rates for comfortable road driving
  5. I have had Tein and now have Fortune Auto 500 series, difference is night and day. Fortune Auto are soooo much nicer to live with, actually absorb bumps rather than smash into them. Would recommend Fortune Auto to all, especially considering they are cheaper than buying new Tein and not much more than D2/Ksport/Other generic taiwenese stuff
  6. Im planning on doing PCH from LA to San Fran, then San Fran to Vegas via Yosemite/Death Vally next year. So also looking forward to seeing what else you guys get up too as beyond that Im not sure what we have planned at this stage
  7. Have you seen the automatic clutches as used in Moto X bikes? A couple guys at work do trail rides and have seen some guys with these clutches that disengage when the RPM is below whatever so when they are stuck in a mud bog the bike doesnt stall.
  8. They will either replace the cable or join the cable with crimp links/heatshrink. Dunno about costs, depends how much more cable you need and if you dig the trench or not (if you dig it ask them how deep they want it, there is a regulation for it)
  9. There was at least two on trademe about a week ago
  10. Wow! Looked nice to start with, now it looks amazing! If it gets a RB it would be awesome if it was N/A with ITB's to hint back to its heritage
  11. I had one of those stop lights, they are pretty rubbish and fall apart if you arnt careful. A hint though, dont stick it to the window, its ugly and it will fall off. Use small screws to screw it the the trim above the windscreen. Do you have any plans for modifying this? Or is it just a tidy up and roll as is sorta thing?
  12. They are gunna be pretty noisy on the road, even my Bridgestone A/T are pretty loud on our shitty roads. You need to take this along the dunes from Taiwhakaea to Thorton along the dunes, M/T will help you dig holes but its a pretty easy off road track. CR-V does it mostly in 2wd. Its easier to go that way rather than start at Thornton as there is a little bit of a soft rutted hill that would need to be climbed, much easier to go down it.
  13. Did they tyre shop laugh at you like they did when I fitted large tyres to my CR-V?
  14. Dang I was thinking I still had my old Shuttle bullbars which would have looked cool on this, but I forgot they went to the scrap man last year
  15. You better make it the Toyota version of this: Supercharged 1600cc, 6Speed manual, 4" Bodylift etc etc
  16. That looks suspiciously like my uncles old one, it hasnt spent any time in Tauranga that you know of? Say 5 years ago
  17. Ahhhh gotcha, move center and add spacer to maintain current wheel to guard fitment. That makes sense
  18. My brain doesnt understand how moving the wheel center will change the wheel to caliper clearance? Surely it will still be exactly the same just the rest of the wheel now sits further out, what it needs is more "meat" added to the mounting face of the rim (like a spacer)
  19. Fair enough, it looks amazing. I was only asking as I figured it might be easier since its been done before and could even go 1800cc for even more power (not that its needed!)
  20. Looks amazing! Is there any reason you didnt go with the proven combo of Mini+B16a? Seeing as there are kits available for fitting it etc?
  21. Dont take it to Ken at Commerce St for a WOF, he has one and will know exactly where all the dodgy bits will be
  22. It would be even cheaper to just get and keep an altezza. They are pretty slow though and boring though
  23. Trademe, parts exchange on here, eBay etc etc
  24. If you want a cool old car, buy one you like, make it immaculate, lower it on nice wheels and call it done. Nothing else you do will change the fact that it is an old car and drives like one(without throwing a shit tonne of time and money at it). Starting off with something quick will help (fast and quick are different things) If you want a fast car buy one that already is and inhance it edit/ for the record Im not saying never do an engine swap, Im just saying your young and you want a car to drive around in, hopefully pull chicks and just have fun with. If its stuck in the shed with no engine for 3years its pretty hard to do any of that. So spend what money you have on something you can already do all that stuff in and then when you have a good job and spare money do what you want
  25. Just FYI for motor swaps, I completed one a few years ago, putting a B18c into a Honda Shuttle. The reason I mention this is that there are kits available for engine mounts etc making it essentially a bolt in, wire up and your done job, heres how it was priced: -Engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, shift linkages, axles, basically everything you need to make it go $1200 -Engine mounts $400 -Cert $400 Thats pretty cheap right? $2000 for a engine swap. Ok so how about all the stuff you havnt thought of? -Brake upgrade, new discs, calipers, brakepads, brake m/c and booster, braided brake lines $400 -Cambelt, water pump, crank seal, other belts $400 (no point putting in a motor if you havnt changed the stuff when its out and easy) -Oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid $160 -New CV's, Clutch, spigot bearing etc and skim flywheel $600 -New exhaust and headers to fit new engine $800 -New cat converter since you need one for a cert $200 Well thats only another $2500 which isnt too bad (it was actually more but I cant remember what else I bought) but since Im going to cert it then I might as well do the suspension -Coilovers $1000 Oh now I need camber arms for cert -$300 Damn its a old car so it needs new suspension bushes -$300 Hmm thats another $1600, so far we are looking at $6100 the motor and gearbox was $1200 and it was a bolt in job with minimal custom work. The only stuff I paid people to do was weld up the exhaust Engine swaps aint cheap, they are fun and you learn a bit but if you just want a fun car now buy one that is already fun. The engine swap I listed above took 10days from old engine out to new engine in and running. The fine tuning and finishing off the rest of the stuff took another year (to be fair I lost interest which happens) After all this I sold it about a year after I finished it for a substantial loss, reason? From when I started it to when it was finished my car needs had changed. I already had a Integra Type R which was better in every way from the factory and much more enjoyable to drive. I almost wished I had left the standard engine in and just lowered the shit out of it (which I did anyway with the swap) and rolled as was. It wasnt any faster than a standard B18c Integra that the engine came out of, just unique. Would I do it again? Probably as I learned a lot but for the money I spent I could have made my already fun to drive Integra faster or had a really nice car second car instead
