  1. C200, basically a live axle R200. Some Glorias have them too
  2. Couldn't believe how small that throttle body is, looks more like something for a 49cc lol
  3. @GuyWithAviators took me out for a succulent Chinese meal and a late night pest on Saturday, between the neons, slam, rattyness and my open exhaust the 2 little Hondas definitely attracted a lot of attention haha
  4. New shoes, brake lever, hit the bars with an axe till they were close enough for now and it was time to take it around the block and bed the brake in. Somehow ended up around the coast a bit in torrential rain and massive side winds ha Turns out I bent one of the rear shocks the other day, so it's now semi hardtail lol New brakes suck compared to the OS 1972 shoes lol.
  5. Weld up own mount, add an inch of stretch.
  6. Yeah how cheap
  7. Haha was thinking at least twice that size tbh
  8. Turns out I also bent the bars fairly bad along with the right footpeg, @Shakotom is hopefully able to hook me up with his old stock bars for it, foot pegs are easy enough to hammer back into shape. Been contemplating upgrading to a 155z engine, but have come to the conclusion that it just isn't worth it as long as I'm stuck with 4 gears. Also figuring out 4 stroke isn't really my thing, so I'm keeping an eye out for my next project... I'm not looking for anything specific, goal is small frame "50", big 2t single with pref 6 speed box. Doesn't mean I'm done fucking with this thing though, ordering a wideband for my business soon and aim to get this thing as dialled in as possible as I know there is still a decent amount of power locked away in the carb tune, but I don't think it's worth it for me to dump another $1000 into it or anything. Couple more pics too, chur to @MichaelJFox!
  9. I've always failed at MIG, but have managed to hot glue a few different metals together successfully with my TIG. Not saying I'm a good welder by any means, but I find TIG fun and fairly easy to get results that I am happy with and are functional at least. My machine is just a little BOC 130amp inverter, ARC/Lift TIG, gives a really nice arc and is easy to set up (a pro welder gave me a couple lessons when I got it and he was impressed by it for a cheap machine) But as I want to start doing a bit more fab work it looks like a MIG is going to be something that will be an asset to have, hopefully now I have a bit more confidence I'll be able to manage to actually do it haha. @Truenotch was telling me last night about a couple different welders he reps, I can't remember the models but one has caught my interest.
  10. Thinking I might have to, my shoulder is getting slightly worrying too.
  11. Might need to do a bit more to the carb tuning and possibly the front brake or something first... Went for a ride this evening and took a few pics Was going ok, jetting seems pretty close etc. After taking the last pic I was coming down the hill, 1st wheelie, 2nd wheelie, slow change to 3rd, 45k on Speedo, opened the throttle wide then it was like hitting a wall and the world spun around on me Front wheel locked up solid and the scooter instantly flipped on me, happened fast but I think my head, gloveless hands and left shoulder took the brunt of the impact, bike landed hard on my back. Pretty sure nothing is broken, but both hands, shoulder, knee, ankle and basically whole left side are fucking sore. Apparently I'm confined to couch rest and am not allowed to go and pull the front end apart right now, but yeah something has locked the front wheel solid. Brake lever is snapped, indicator lense is smashed and there is a bit of road rash etc here and there. All in all I'm thinking I came out lucky.
  12. I looked at the first one, was a really decent price in the SCA trade mailer, was thinking I could flick my BOC tig off and just have the one machine. Decided I want something a little bit gruntier with Euro torch though. Looking at one of these ATM, they have smaller/cheaper options too and I've been hearing good things http://www.weldtech.net.nz/shop/Mig+Welders/WT200MP.html

Need to figure out why it smokes so much... Valve stem seals maybe
  14. Having stupid thoughts about just getting on this thing and trying to ride around the North Island.
  15. Oh yeah, so after discovering the head gasket just hours before we were leaving for Auckland I refitted the factory gasket that I took out when fitting the high comp piston and head etc, torqued to just over 15nm and chucked it in the van more or less untested and with gas, carbon and chunks of gasket in the oil lol. Easily running the best it has since I've had it, think there's still a bit of power to be found though... Hardparked with @MopedNZ, @MichaelJFox, @Shakotom
  16. I had torqued it to 10 or 11nm which is the stock setting, after talking with @BLIZZO it seems like bumping that up to maybe 15nm or more wouldn't be a bad idea with the high compression head and piston combo. Re-torquing wouldn't hurt either with China gaskets, looking at getting a copper gasket for it too. I'm thinking the ever growing head gasket leak was the main reason I've been struggling to get a consistent tune.
  17. At least it's not a holed piston or fried valve, looking at the bright side. Explains a few issues it's been having too, I actually think it's been leaking for a while tbh, grey carbon flecked oil was odd!
  18. So yeah since last post I had it back in Auckland for a pest with @GuyWithAviators, @chris r and not @Shakotom as he had a work event... it ran like shit all, spent as much time trying to fix a fucked coil terminal that was arcing out than riding and then it developed a nasty rev cut out/limiter. The GC @chris r gave me a hand to rewire the coil, fixed it mostly but not the limiter issue, even changing the CDI, coil and plug didn't help... After my hang over cleared I realised it was throttle position related not RPM, so I pulled the carb off in the hotel carpark and discovered that the main jet had fallen out of the emulsion tube and was loose in the float bowl... Yep that'll do it. Next night @MopedNZ took Guywithaviators for a pest around Tauranga, my exhaust snapped near the start and I spent the night with a massive crack at the headpipe and it having the most power it had made, epic night. Got it home and left it in the shed till last week, with tomorrow's Auckland ride looming I figured I'd better fix the exhaust, so I zapped it up and went for a test ride, discovered it'd lost all mid range power Fuck. Decided it was the muffler restricting it even though it was very free flow, fucked around with jetting etc then decided wtf and remade the muffler core with less packing and no fluting to restrict flow and called it done. Didn't test ride, until last night I went to push it into the van and figured I'd better at least go down the road and see what it was like with the new muffler. Idled up to temp, first gear out the driveway felt good, on the road and into 2nd, ripped open the throttle and it spluttered, roared, lifted the front wheel then *POP* and it died, no compression at all. Fuck. Again.
  19. Early Dio is AC, have one in my box of goodies, late Dio ie: AF34 and 35 is DC, think I've got one of those with me too haha
  20. Fagbook :/ I've got a decent CDI here I can bring up if you wanted, could leave with @Shakotom or @GuyWithAviators along with the parts they don't know I'm leaving for @chris r lol Oh yeah Crap.
  21. I didn't say certified as legal, I'd be happy with certifiably retarded lol
