just as a wee milestone
shes now rust and hole free!
tho thats not all that impressive as there was barely any rust in it
edit:
also exterior is now just about ready for its final paint
need to do interior, in boot and under bonnet also
you could probably just punch the number somewhere in the engine bay without any problems
the morris 1800 we had had them obviously punched by hand into the rad support (numbers were crooked and everything ) and we never had a problem with wofs.
Thinking about it - it could just have a random number put in the papers, the morrie has that
thats like yesterday
i mean when putting them back in
everything i read on the internet seems to be making it harder than it should be
on a side note - theres a clip on youtube where they are making ckd (complete knock down) morries in sweden
they bash the shit out of the windscreens with a hide mallet to get them in
anyone here ever popped in a split screen?
is it as much of a prick of a job as everyone seems to think?
(i have fitted the rear screen, which is suposedly almost as bad, without much drama - so are people just pansys?)
i would suggest graphite powder to lube the cable (so shit doesnt stick to it)
a little trick you may find handy is that when you are shifting into a non syncro gear (probably 1st and reverse)
try moving the lever half into another gear (e.g. second before going into 1st). This lets you "borrow" the syncro from the other gear (really you are in a way pre-loading the box) and gives you a much easier change
2mm doesnt seem right to me>
i would set it up so there is 2cm free travel in the clutch pedal before it engages (thats what the morrie manual says anyways)
