  1. After a play this afternoon, the engine bay went from this To this guards and front back on, just need to sand and paint the bullbars and do a quick service and it will be ready for re-reg . Oh, and cut the rest of the paint to match the guards.
  2. Thanks. I knew I had seen it somewhere on here .
  3. Cheers mate. Yep 4 speed. Wasn't sure what way to go with it, was keen on getting a tray and dropping it low, but the more I play with it, the more I love it the way it is. First goal is to get it reg and wof (hope to keep the black plates if I can) .
  4. So, to hell with the Mazda and Holden. It's all about the 4wd now. pulled the guards to check for mud and rust, oh and rat nests. Found mud and nests but no rust other than in the front of the guards, so bloody stoked, thought for sure it would be rusty as hell . Anyone know how rusty your guards can be for a WOF ? Hope to keep this as close to og as I can, that means no panel repairs or new paint. Inside was clean as, under all the shit. og vinyl floor mats came up mint with a scrub, underlay has to go, way too much rat piss in it. Gave the guards a quick cut, came up better than I thought. Look forward to doing the whole cab.
  5. Comments or ideas. Could be keen on a tray for this if anyone knows of anything. Cheers. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/51220-wldrx2s-85-l200/
  6. Had a bit of time to play on this today. Still smells like rat piss, but now it goes. And like a fucken gem too. clutch was stuck, but nothing a crash start couldn't fix. So stoked with how smooth it runs. In it's new home.
  7. Right. not sure if this should be in here or in other projects. I'm sure the mods will move it if it doesn't belong here. After the sale of the family farm in Kaikoura , I managed to get the farm ute . So last weekend my good lady and I shot up on Sunday and picked it up . It's a 1985 L200 , Grandad was the second owner from about 88, and it has a massive 75,000 kms . Thats the only 2 good points, as rust and rats have moved in, and fuck me does it stink inside. Not sure on the plans for it at the moment. A big part of me is thinking about trying to find a wellside for it and slamming it. not sure how well that would work with it being 4wd. Or fully restore it as a bit of a dedication to my grandad . //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/51221-wldrx2s-85-l200/
  8. Yah for the death of another sunroof. Amazing what bog can hide . Well done for fixing it right.
  9. What time does the swapmeet start on friday ?
  10. How much monies ? I unpicked some skins off some doors I had dipped, and 12 months later they were still moist in between the frame and panel. my panel beater told me, he hates using dipped panels, as you can never get 100% of the acid out. and would rather sand stuck in the joins than acid. That being just one mans opinion though.
  11. God damn holden. Cooling sorted, now brake master cylinder and power steering leaking. Why can't you be reliable as mazda rotary ? Don't you know, all I want to do is listen to you idle at red lights and do sly skids at green ones.
  12. Not getting pulled over while driving rx7 . you sure you know how to rotary ?
  13. Well fucking done. Great work mate.
  14. So can't wait for the "Fuck yeah. Skids on" update to this thread. Have been watching with interest and awe of your skills right from the start. Well , right from when I was pinning over a white fd for sale for fuck all, actually. So glad I didn't get all excited and buy it, would have thrown a right tanty over the complexity of it's many problems.
  15. Cooling problems sorted. Back to the big shed .
  16. so much want, right there. Sure there was one of these up for sale at the rolleston hoarder auction a while back, not sure where that one ended up.
  17. you could try Wade Henshaw, http://www.henshawperformance.co.nz/index.html could be worth a go.
  18. Right, so 6 months of owning this I've used it all of 3 times, mainly because I wasn't 100% confident with the cooling system. Had put a new thermostat and water pump, and heater valve, but it never really felt right, water would go rust brown and would never bleed right . So, aint no body got time for that, and today I started pulling another perfectly good car apart . Now it's birthday time. Radiator will go off on Monday to Canterbury radiators for a flush or re-core, depending on what they find. And while it's apart, new hoses, filters and belts all around. Anyone got the hook ups at Blackwell Holden ?
  19. $90 for 290kms, he's already running a 13b
  20. Awesome work mate. not many things more satisfying than turning an unloved house into a home. you would be so stoked to get rid of that toe smasher in front of the stove. bet that thing has claimed many victims over the years.

  22. looking good mate. looks like your running hydro's with the front in the air and the little wheels. The wife know yet ?
  23. Brakes are now all go, fluid is in and system bleed . The cert guy has passed an eye over it and gave a recommendation, drive shaft hoops. So, some money changed hands, and now. Two of these now live under the mazda.
