HEY HEY HEY. Stop trying to talk the man out of the obvious rotor swap . The old piston donk is shot. 13b bridgeport time .
  6. Got the rubbers from Mazda. They still have quite a bit of stock for b1600's
  7. We do the electrical work for a few places that you could try. Guy Norris engineering, they mainly do new truck trays, tanks, bins, that sort of thing. Like TMC but smaller. Bob Howden engineering, they do more repairs of large equipment and custom bespoke work. Or the wife's uncle, Tennent engineering, they do mostly structural, and building work. Don't know if any are looking for extra staff, but could be worth a try. If it makes a difference, they are all on the south side of Christchurch, hornby / rolleston.
  8. That would be cool if you could. Don't go out of your way, it's not the end of the world, just makes my OCD tick a bit.
  9. Ute is looking sweet mate. Any chance your parts ute has a mint interior light lense that you would be willing to part with ? The one in the wife's b1600 has turned to powder .
  10. Do love me an L200. Yours looks like a real gem. Should go real well with the planned engine upgrade. Have 2 myself 4wd and 2wd . Need a replacement 4g63 for one though.
  11. We never got onto the interior, got a bit side tracked with my mazda. But after hunting off and on for some other wheels, a mate spotted these on facebook. Stoked with the fitment, and best of all, Rebekah agrees with me that it needs more low, so I've been given the go ahead to go down another inch and a half. After a morning at the hotrod breakfast, she now wants a small front chin spoiler/air dam.
  12. Does anyone have the hook ups on Ctek chargers ? Looking at getting one that I can leave on to maintain the battery . Probably the Mxs-10.
  13. Cheers lads. Still have a lot of little bits to finish off. Starting it has pointed out a few things that need attention (nothing major) leaks and such. As much as I hate to do it, it might have to come up a little bit, cross member is 105mm off the ground, that I am happy with, but the very expensive ceramic coated exhaust is only about 60mm, and may or may not have already made friends with the road. I'm not sure if it's normal, but the mazdaspeed lsd sounds like a bag full of hammers clanging and banging away. I knew it was going to be tight, but shit. But all that means fuck all. I am just happy I finally pulled my finger out and got shit done on it.
  14. Cover on the diff is to protect the brake lines. Passengers side is on top, drivers side is on the bottom. It's only chrome because .... um ..... yeah.... I got carried away.
  15. Video of first start. Is a credit to Al Marsh. 8 year old build, he never had a worry, I was stressing, but oil, water, fuel, and spark, and he was just like "go for it" he never doubted his build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxpfsu5Z9ns
  16. Thanks mate. couldn't have hoped for a better outcome for the day. My 8 year old engine started first pop without a hitch. It sounds soooo good. a wof might not be a simple thing. And I got to fang it up and down the street . Best day ever.
  17. gotta say. over the fucking moon to drive it again, after so long.
  18. and ended up with me getting to do this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddwY1EinaO8
  19. so, today was a very very good day. It started like this.
  20. Now now dabuzz, don't be like that. And it's closer to 4 years between efforts. But not this time. wait and see. Big things happening soon. Cheers piazzanoob , I'm bloody stoked with it, and the lads at Vinny Fab did a great job. It is hard taking it anywhere I've ended up being very protective of it, and trusting anyone is hard. But so far I've been very lucky to have dealt with some top guys, who are just as crazy and bigger perfectionists than me.
