  1. now that would be a first! sure it wasn't a diff code F312 which = 3.9:1 ratio
  2. usually 4.1 or 4.3 on altezza. my kaaz had a 4.55 but don't think it was a factory option. 3.9 most common in gx61 mark2, grande, chaser etc with IRS. 3.7 a bit harder to source. came in ma61 celica-supra. seen one in a supercharged tz estima van too. ive seen a 3.5 in a non turbo ga70 supra.. one of the hardest to find. estima are common as but almost always have 4.3.. theres a 4.1 estima at takanini pickas at the mo tho.
  3. i know its not a std one would have to compare pics to confirm. is it any of the ones shown in the bottom of this thread? no point double posting it eh http://www.toymods.net//forums/showthread.php?t=14640 heres some online toyota diff repair manuals http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13882
  4. tup bought that G series gx71 GT trd diff for his gx71 1jzgte. he had a rebuilt std F lsd with escort center clutch plate in it before that. that altezza diff pic above fit live axle fine. bought of TM for $500ish shipped. is actually an aftermarket kaaz 2way. fitted myself into live axle housing and works a dream. the altezza torsen F series carrier is slightly wider.. but has a different bearing that comes out the same width as a std F diff. around 150mm from memory. so swap the torsen lsd with altezza side bearings and it fits fine. i have not got round to completing this but plenty of people have in aus in ma61's. oh another thing on the std F series lsd. there are two types. the IRS and Live Axle versions are NOT the same. the irs version only work on one plate each side (crap!) whereas the live axle van diff use all 3 each side. the plates are different between them. yes you can swap the live axle plates across. im having hard time trying to source them through toyota at the moment as they don't recognise their own part numbers and have now drawn up the tooth'd plate to remanufacture myself. apparently the escort english lsd diff has a usable plate similar in design to the F van lsd which is what tup got put into his rebuilt F irs lsd. has anyone seen proof of an estima with an lsd? ive checked plenty incl supercharger one and yet to find one. the van diff come in the 4wd cr30, yr30 and variations of the 30 series townace/masterace. they dont come in liteace van. also come in a toyota truck... can't remember which tho.. was like a ym60 chassis.
  5. dude you dont need full rwd 4ag stuff. only inlet and exhaust manifs, the water sensor housing on back of head change to bluetop one, and the ae86 spigot bearing. the rest you can use the fwd stuff with an electric fan. for the thermostat run the ae92 remote thermostat under the intake behind the water pump and run a longer radiator hose etc. mod pipe off back of water pump to suit. much cheaper option aye. 3sge would be sweet.. much more involved tho. from the investigations i had fitting w55 into ke70 (same floor pan) the ce71 engine sat in a different spot so the gearbox crossmember was the wrong offset. i ended up using a ta63/ma61 celica gearbox xmember from a W box. had to slot xmember holes 5mm. have been told by another ke70 3tgte owner that the auto xmember bolts on.
  6. score! good to hear of some more true classic japanese metal in nz
  7. what kind of motor is that!? intake manif between the plug valley and exhaust out both sides?? wtf! dunno if you fullas can see this page(s) but yer i've put a heap of different ideas there http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=13186
  8. have you had problems stopping the car or having overheating problems? if not.. why bother? do you intend going faster or improving driving skill that you think you'll need better brakes in future? then yes do it. if using on gravel rallying.. keep it as light as you can so the wheels stay on the road. (ie forget cressida stuff). ae86 vented struts are commonly used to upgrade ke25 using the p/s ae86 steering arms or import some te21/te27/te28 steering arms to keep same steering lock. and then a lowering spring and shock upgrade, oh and camber plates otherwise dig through the dba catalogue for some bigger vented disks that'll fit the ke70 struts and make some caliper mounts for larger calipers. late ke70 or ae85/ae86 strut would be more suitable for disk upgrades as they don't have a thread in the disk.. so you can redrill the disk to suit the hub. or if you like huge brakes.. skyline or bluebird disks sitting over top of hub with longer studs and a caliper upgrade. if your pedal goes to the floor.. upsize the master cylinder. hope you have an adjustable brake bias valve with the brake upgrade chur
  9. project thread here http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13592 looking great so far! 4agte ftw
  10. kp are 8" 200x10mm ish apparently some of the euro kp's have the 9" 226mm disk. ke70 wagon have the 226 disk so thats most likely what it is. but also ke70's have two different types of hub, the other later type ('85-'88ish) have no thread in the disk where it bolts to the hub as they bolt from the rear instead of the front of hub. (like ae85/te71).
  11. ever had a look through http://www.club4ag.com ? the tech forums have alot of info if using the sc12 charger, you can use the 4agze bottom mount that the thing bolts to which has a tensioner, but need to mill 8mm off the underside of the rear bolt hole if using r/h rwd engine mount (ae86 etc). also make a custom top mount and mount the s/c out wide so it clears the n/a intake manifold with a longer belt fitted. then modify the air outlet pipe to face forwards when mounting rwd. the electromagnetic clutch needs a 12v power feed to the wire. can setup a switch on the dash for very basic setup with charger on all the time. (need some way of venting pressure when throttle closed (in a throttle after charger setup). or use a pressure switch to turn it on like they do from factory. factory ones also have a delay on the switch so it doesnt turn off between gear changes. http://shell.deru.com/~sgn1/AW11/Scnotes.htm also there's an air bypass valve that recirculates the air when at idle so there's no load on the charger. some people say it runs without.. but can't be good for it imo. http://www.mr2supercharger.com/ABVmods.html http://www.mr2supercharger.com/SCblowers.html

mrt1trd has a diagnostics machine is it only when you rev it out or only in a certain gear?
  16. 3tgte getting old aye.. if you do one.. consider a rebuild as part of the price. can use alot of pushrod bits for bottom end (bearings etc), but things like oil pump and chain guides arent cheap to replace. 250hp not hard to coax out of one.. just better turbs, 2.5" exhaust, fuel pump and injector upgrade, intercooler + bov and 15psi (depends on turbo). then get it tuned so it never ever knocks but hangone... you live with hardout dudes that do v8 conversions and make own turbo manifs and shit.. i reckon get a dirt cheap gen2 3sge from st185/sw20 (or newer version if you can get cheap, gen3 3sgte FTW!) um then make own intake and exhaust, t3 turbo, make mounts, use 1S sump and oil pump, 1S/2C bellhousing and w55 or whatever can find cheap etc. dunno what you use for loom/ecu, maybe find 3sgte one, then fang the fuck out of it.. if you pop it.. get another short block and go fry some more rubber! mean go talk to mark harrison.. he got some ideas

  19. more boxes for us eh! condition of box also matters.. if its loose or worn then more likely to shatter gears. also read on the net that a W50 that originally came behind a 6cyl (m-eu ma45 for instance?) have larger bearings than one that come from a 4 (18rg or 3t). the link to that info... http://www4.tpgi.com.au/users/loats/technical/ma61/gearboxes.html
  20. i've heard of a couple guys running 5ltr v8s and breaking steel case W50 with a good ol thrashing. one is a VL commie with 308, high rise manifold, bug catcher, extractors etc the alloy w55/w57/w58 are stronger and newer.. known to be good for 300+ hp
  21. i do hope you have an air bypass valve! when the charger is spinning and your throttle is shut.. that extra air has to go somewhere
  22. nice work on the panelling.. must've taken a while to block that so smooth? ra28 mmmm 1jzgte mmmm awesome project dude
