  1. what motor are you using? you should just go tank>high pressure pump>fuel rail>reg>tank at least at first IMO. I am running this setup now, I have been around hamptons without issue down to about 1/4 tank. Escort sedans have a reasonable tank as standard due to being vertical
  2. yeah but changing springs/spring rates you can remove the preload
  3. I heard rustisize might be here tonight so I've run away to Napier, then I found out it's Art Deco weekend here so I'm coming back before that starts
  4. if you have no money but lots of time, you can port your head after spending a bunch of time researching how you should do it. Otherwise 1300 pistons, oversize if you want. leave conrods and all other parts alone. Also get a big cam. make sure exhaust is reasonable size, like 2 inch. Lighter flywheel if you can afford
  5. Pretty sure those seat brace plates need to be 5mm and welded to the underside of the floor
  6. I checked mine and yeah it drops to empty when disconnected from the sender and goes max full when going straight to earth. So you want to check all the plugs and the sender to see if one of those is broken/not fitted properly
  7. I'll check which way it goes tonight but I think if its earthing it will show max full, it may be earthing in the sender to the tank or at one of the plugs. But its pretty easy to remove and refit a tank. Its much easier to take the sender unit out of the tank with it still in place and check it though, just make sure the tank is empty so it doesnt come flooding out
  8. When the gas tank is empty, take out the level sensor and check the resistance to see if it's changing as you move it up and down. If it's changing its 'probably' ok. Now check resistance of wire going to gauge, it is quite long and goes through a few plugs so check them too. It should be in one of those but it could also be a problem in the dash some how
  9. im pretty sure you guys are getting too technical and its just a tuning issue
  10. lol wat it does it on cranking, I havent played with the enrichment stuff yet so thats first option
  11. I dont think it does a test fire. does running lean at start make it backfire? maybe I need to let the pump prime for the full time before cranking. I did notice that pressure drops away instantly as soon as the pump is turned off, not sure if this is correct or not though
  12. im getting an inlet backfire at most startups, what would cause this?
  13. wellington is only a little city so everything is only 5 mins away haha TGB is gonna have a look at it thanks guys
  14. I got mine from merlin motorsports in UK https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/s/itg-air-filters/itg-megaflow/air-filters
  15. as per title, its a nissan primera wagon. box of beers etc at nats for the job
  16. I got my clutch from autoclutch, dont forget to get one of those plastic things for realigning the clutch
  17. there has to be someone in wellington who could help, I got a couple of guys off here to help me and we wired my car in a day startup ignition table will make starting easier if you have a bigger cam, also there is so much more that a microsquirt can do
  18. yeah to be fair, thats about $1200 worth. But its worth the money to wait if you were expecting to spend alot more than the cost of converting a dizzy to electronic tbh
  19. I should do an update on my build thread regarding the microsquirt conversion but basically you need -microqsquirt + loom -4x coils + connecting plugs + coil brackets + leads -hall effect sensor and bracket -toothed crank pulley from QED motorsport -tps + connecting plug -relay to control power feed to coils -cable to connect computer to ecu then you can add things like temp sensor to control electric fan, rev limit etc etc
  20. you might be lucky and just be able to chuck in a new cam now?
  21. yeah holy shit man thats crap, cant wait to see whats happened inside engine though!
  22. you should do megasquirt and edis/individual coils and fit tps to your side draughts then if you want injection later on, its already waiting yes car is negative earth, didnt it have the sticker as standard??
