  1. Managed to prove that a Midget can be practical...try this in a modern convertable
  2. My understanding (which is probably wrong) there shoudlnt be any stress on it when the car is stationary. Under cornering both strut tops will go in the same direction...but then which strut has more force the inside or the outside...they cant be the same as then you wouldnt need a strut brace in the first place. So in summary I dont know.
  3. Keen for meet unless weather is like it is now
  4. That photoshop looks ok but the wheels are too big. Also leave the door handles on, leave the top red (or at least not black/grey/etc) and dont tint it. Otherwise looks good
  5. Ive never done a windscreen but I did my hardtop which is the same theory with smaller glass. Once I pulled the locking strip out I heated the rubber in one corner so I could push i out there then the rest came out easily. Putting in was the same theory but alot more difficult. Id do small windows again but dont think Id bother with a windscreen, easier to get a pro to do it. If your going to follow Chris's method put a rock on the windscreen then hit the rock rather than hitting the windscreen directly. That is if you have glass cover anyway
  6. After my minor incident I got that all repaired better than it was before and also got the hardtop repainted. Took me over 5 hours to put the windows back in it Something id never done before though so was happy I achieved it without any breakages. Got a full set of new window, door, windscreen and boot rubbers for just over $200 landed so have put most of those on. A couple still to go. Picked up another steering wheel from my dad when I was down there last week. It looks good in the photo but the leather and the padding underneath it has gone all spongy, also even with alot of shoe nugget applied its still not black so Ill look into getting that recovered. As long as its not too cost prohibitive itll go on the car. Mosre in keeping than the Momo above. Have ordered a few more bits (suspension bushes etc) this week so should see some more minor changes in a few weeks.
  7. Back when I had an L20b I read up on how to do this without taking the head off, something along the lines of piling rope in through the spark plug holes. Never did try it though.
  8. Do you have a photo cause that description dont make much sense to me. Could you fibreglass it?
  9. Wasnt there a B18C in this mini dejoux or was it only a B16A? Dejoux's have marginally lower bonnets than minis and Id guess ADO16s would be higher than both. Though looking at that photo that motor is tilted a long way forward, are they normally more upright in mini conversions?
  10. Turns out not much...all fixed now though. Tried telling me first gear is noisy. Im certain its supposed to be
  11. Thinking about bringing my bike up on the sunday
  12. Just went past. The upper carpark is completley dark. The lower bit down by the courts was lit but that may only be when the courts are being used Im not certain they go all night.
  13. How about a Ferrari instead
  14. Good to meet you too. Rather small world...thats quite a line up in your dads garage.
  15. LNI slack. Not even going to riverbank tonite
  16. I didnt see that must have been too early. got there around 9.30 and stayed for about an hour. Didnt see any other OS people.
  17. You know your oldschool when your car has been off the road longer than most peoples cars have existed
  18. Hi Graham. Good to see you around these parts. Dont think you need to be suggesting Al buys another car
  19. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v84/B ... 0Day%2008/ photos in here
  20. I had a funny feeling so had already slowed down, I was only doing about 60 something ks. Was really strange the way it let go, was no tyre squeal or anything it just snapped, first noise was tyre effectively being dragged along the road as it tried to go sideways. Car went rather higher than I would have liked up the bank so Im bloody lucky I wasnt going much faster or it probably would have tipped over. Also lucky noone happened to be going the other way. So all and all rather unfortunate but it was about the best possible alternative except for getting away with it completley so Im not too gutted. Will get some show pics up tonite.
